Would just like to point out, we went back up to 97 on RT today =P, which sounds a lot better than 96 for some reason(and is the inverted scored of Part 1's 79% haha). Also, a 97 is an A+ =P I think it will get a BP nom. Probs wont win, but the 100%/8.8 average among top critics will help, not to mention a 93 bfca score.…

The more of these "rank the movies" that come up, the harder it becomes to do. Now that the films are complete, each one really does seem to play it's own role. Still, I rank them in precise reverse order, with DH2 being my favorite and SS being my least(although it's still great). I from now on consider Deathly Hallows to…

If you watch episode 14 of that walkthrough, you'll see exactly how that "Why do you live? Because I have something worth living for!" scene was supposed to go.

I'm surprised by all the Coulson votes. Dillane, by a mile. Coulson felt exaggerated, perhaps because of Colombus' direction. Generic bad guy attitude. Dillane actually felt genuinely evil and manipulative, and reminded me much more of book Voldy than Coulson did.

I, quite frankly, have no answer. Here's to hoping Rowling explains a heck of a lot of details about the department of mysteries with Pottermore =P

I shall be sieng it in Imax soon (which whilst 'only' the third biggest screen in the world I believe for 3d has a bigger image then any other). However it is not bieng show via digital projectors rather it usses two 70mm projectors to create the two 3d images). I know most imax venues just use two 2k digital projectors…

I worked out on my calculator: 232/240 x100 = 96.66666666666666666666666666666666666667. Does that count as 97% then, as it may be rounded up? It is rounded up =P Hopefully we won't get anymore rottens and it will stay at 97! It would suck if the very last review were a rotten. Also, a 100% with an 8.8 average among top…

Time for a longgggg post. As for Flitwick: Post Columbus. I've read the books plenty of times each, and still prefer the latter version. He's a lot more fun. To give my opinions on the past debates, even though they are over, I'm giving my votes to Gambon, Yates, Emma, Williams, and Serra. Those last 4 I mentioned were…

@blurayuser thank you for the very informative first post. You explain in detail much of what I've tried to say previously here, how 3D quality can vary greatly from theater to theater, and picture quality in general. It's why, living in Manhattan, I have a few choice theaters where I know I will get a good quality…

My personal preference is the exact reverse order of the movies since they came out. This is also my preference for the books: 1) DH2 2) DH1 3) HBP 4) OoTP 5) GOF 6) PoA 7) CoS 8) SS This list is hardly a concrete "list" though. Like, SS is at the bottom, yet it holds greater emotional value for me than any other except…

Funny about the premise of the thread. My usual complaint is the exact opposite of the OP's. I think Yates is sooooo concerned with substance that he sacrifices style sometimes. That was my feel throughout every movie he's directed except for DH Part 1. That's not to say I didn't love them anyway, but I always felt he…

is there a chance of it going down to 96? One more negative would bring it down to 96% =/

I hate how he gave a fresh for Transformers for it's good use of effects, but then give's Part 2 a rotten because he feels like it's empty.. 8-| Also ironic how Ebert gave it a positive and he didn't, but different strokes for different folks, I guess.

1) Rickman: This is for both his amazin performance here, and his performance throughout the series. Think about it guys. He was the ONLY person on set who knew Snape's secrets. Not even Kloves or any of the directors until book 7 came out! He's been building up layers on the character ever since the first movie. That is…

Did anyone else really love the dialogue in the Gray Lady scene? I thought it was amazing Yes!! I totally did. I don't even know why exactly, it just felt very deep for some reason. Reminds me a bit of some of the dialogs in ROTK. The music helped a lot too.

if we havent got an extended ultimate edition with movies 1-6 i have doubts that dh8 would suddenly get an ultimated extended edition :-? This is different though. It's a finale. Imo very few, if any, of the previously deleted scenes were so important to their respective films. I would not be surprised at all if we got a…

Sorry for the double post, but there's a somewhat separate point I wanted to make. I was going to do it in a separate thread, but I can't create threads yet. I'd love if someone could do it for me though! Basically: Does anyone feel like they appreciate Part 1 a whole lot more after watching Part 2? Don't get me wrong,…

I have to say that after spending hours upon hours following this thread(and it's previous iteration), I'm still in shock at how well reviewed it is. 97% Positive? 8.4 Average. And that's just under general critics. 100% Top Critics?!? 8.8 Average?! That's just amazing. I mean did anyone really expect such a remarkably…

10/10. "O" for Outstanding in OWL scores. Mild spoiler alert. I'm glad I waited to see it twice before giving it a score. I would have given it something like a 9-9.5 on my first viewing(though it'd still be my favorite movie), but I now realize that from a critical perspective, that would've been wrong. I had one main…

I cannot understand for the life of me why they cut so much stuff in the last movie. Surely, as the last movie, you would want to make doubly sure that the movie doesn't rush through too fast. Rushing the last movie of such a big complex franchise is the worst thing you could do, second only to rushing the first movie. I…
