TV gives so much more time for character development and story archs. I personally prefer it to film. Sure it's addicting, but I don't really consider that a bad thing. haha... It's addicting if you really love the show. ;)

You won't regret it if you continue watching. Each season literally gets better and better. Usually shows tend to go downhill slightly over time, but Breaking Bad just keeps picking up the pace. I've never really seen a show quite as flawless (and I'm an avid TV watcher, so I've seen a ton of shows lol).

I recently got into Breaking Bad, and holy crap... It is friking incredible. I'd highly recommend it to anyone.

Yep... that's pretty much what I'm saying. Now, of course they won't be experts on the more technical aspects, and they may not know all the terms, but they will still gain an appreciation of those things and be able to give a more knowledgeable opinion about them.
