Since when does a protagonist dying maen it's no longer storytelling? I have argued my position from the viewpoint of Harry being the chosen one and that theme being taken to its logical conclusion. I wanted something permanent to happen with Harry, instead he came out unscathed sans the battle wounds. He lived happily…

It seems it's impossible to have an intelligent conversation with you barfhorcrux. That's interesting because your adolescent (at best) name-calling just totally ensured that this is absolutely anything but an intelligent conversation, but I digress. You're the one who decided to dismiss all of my arguments because you…

Clearly you just flat out did not like much about the book. I'm sorry to hear that. I did not, no. It's a contrived mess.

Frodo's plight didn't trick the reader into thinking he was dead with a poorly-written segment where the author was too lazy to come up with a different way to deliver exposition. Star Wars doesn't have a "die to protect everyone" theme in it.

Hell, fuck it, Luke should have died on the Death Star, and Chewbacca should have came in and killed Palpatine! Yeah! Oh, or better yet, Frodo should have died because like main characters should always totally die, and Gimli should have destroyed the One Ring! Storytelling, folks. I love your strawman. Do continue making…

I didn't read the entire series to get a cliche-ridden "duel" with a circling of enemies laced with massive exposition where the villain had to understand where he went wrong. Sorry.

I'll bite: Ron and Hermione know that the last horcrux is the snake. However, if Harry died, the story would still play out where Neville takes care of the snake. Voldemort is now the most mortal he has ever been, and the protection Harry left is on everyone. Molly, Arthur, Kingsley, McGonagall, etc combine forces and…

The epilogue is the fairy tale ending I referred to. They lived happily ever after. Saying it's a "fantasy" story to excuse the lack of an ending that would be more realistic to me is a cop out, just like excusing the nonsense with Dumbledore at Kings Cross only happened because of "magic." It doesn't make for any…

I'd also like to note that Harry being able to stay or move on comes out of nowhere and probably the worst bit of writing Rowling ever managed. We know that you can choose to go to the afterlife or stay on earth, but only in ghost form. Okay, now you're just trolling, or are a joke character. The good news is that you can…

Did I say it should be downer ending just to be downer? I did not. I prefer downer endings as they are usually the most realistic, though. In a series that is riddled with commentary that can shape a child's thinking about certain subjects, showing that evil still persists fits right in. The ending we got feels like it…

Another major theme in the series is overcoming death. To me, that is only accomplished when you accept that your end is near and you actually die. There's no hope for Voldemort to do that, but there was for Harry, hence the "open at the close". There was no close, or death, for Harry, no matter how many like to think…

I don't think it would have ruined the plot. Rowling made the point again and again that Harry is the Chosen One. To complete that theme, you have him die for everyone. Harry living made that theme completely moot because we got a cliche "moving on" chapter where everything is explained to the reader. It's up to Rowling to…

I think I left the screen black for far too long.

Yates will never ever live up to the legacy that the *books* created or the mastery of the *Alfonso Cuaron* huh I love how Cuaron's cinematography is so great that the other films look like shit by comparison. owait When the trailer for DH Part 1 was released, someone on CoS Forums said Yates cribbed Jackson, as if all…

I'm currently in the process of seamlessly editing both parts together to see if the film flows better. That would be awesome!! Hre it is. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3K3CLCWP

My main problem is mostly about the reveal of Barty Crouch Jr. Kloves and Newell should have never decided to show the culprit early on. It weakens the impact of learning that Voldemort was behind it all.

One of my favorites from a TV show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_yWqCcjsOI I still haven't seen television performances better than these, though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9oY7zpan18
