I like the idea that they held on to that shot and slowly faded to black

I think that the script is fantastic! I had the same opinion when I saw HBP script two years go (especially the last scenes). I like the ending of the final product. I would get angry if they put as final the moment where they were entering at the manor.

DH1 is the best HP movie but I think that they should have kept the "deathly hallows argument" in the movie (it is in the script) because this is the great discovery in the first part.

I will allow myself to believe this is true.

But they cut SO MUCH. I don't know if I can forgive them now.

I don't think that the scenes they cut last more than 16-17 minutes on the big screen.

    We've got:

-Extended Obliviate scene, which I really didn't like in the script
-Ron talking with Arthur: well I'd like to see this, because there would be a reason for the beautiful, yet random scene with Ron in the film.
-Petunia and Harry: that was a nice little talk. I wish it were in the film.
-Dudley and Harry: I really didn't like it and I found this completely useless and unnecessary.
-Extended Burrow return scene with Hagrid: Nothing important.
    -Extended Ginny talk. Quite interesting.
-Extended Scrimgeour talk: I'd like to see this as well. Especially Rufus's final lines were quite nice and foreshadowed his death a bit.
-Lupin and Harry: This should have been in the film. I don't know how they'll handle the story in Part II. I think that, since they were doing reshoots not only for the Epilogue but for other scenes these couple months, they will put bits and pieces to explain these little plotlines somehow. I hope so.
-Lily's letter: I'd love to see this as well. But I think that they will show the letter in Prince's tale so it will be included somehow.
-Looking at the Death Eaters: Though intense, I found it badly written in the script. So, no thanks.
-Death Eaters finding Hermione's house: That was a nice add. I'd love to see it in the DE montage.
-Talk with Percy and Arthur in the Ministry: Um, no. Not important at all. Since we don't have a clue about Percy's betrayal this scene would have been irrelevant. Though I'm still worried about how they'll handle Percy's storyline in Part II.
-Talk about Taboo and Ron's complaints: This should have been included. Definitely.
-Extended Grass walk sequence: Very intense, as well. I'd love to see it.
-Extended Barn hiding sequence: Well, just few more seconds, I don't think this is a great loss.
-Chasing the Rabbit: While the final bit is intense when they almost battle each other, running after the rabbit and shooting spells playfully would have ruined the build up to Ron's departure. So, I'm kind of mixed towards this.
-Extended Grindelwald talk: I don't remember the scene in the film very well, but it would have been interesting. Maybe a bit too much exposition? I don't know.
-Harry and Ron's talk about Hermione: I'd love to see this. Well...
-Trio's talk about the Deathly Hallows: Though badly written final lines of this short dialogue, the rest of it was good and should have provided some resolution and explanation to the whole DH story. Since they cut it, I think they will put it at Shell Cottage, so this will be explained properly.

All in all, I would have liked the following scenes in the film:

    Ron and Arthur (0:30)
    Petunia and Harry (0:30)
    Harry and Ginny (0:30)
    Scrimgeour (0:45)
    Lupin and Harry (0:30)
    Lily's Letter (1:00)
    DEs finding Hermione's House (0:20)
    Talk about the Taboo (1:30)
    Extended Grass/Farm scenes (1:15)
    Chasing the Rabbit (1:30)
    Grindelwald and Dumbledore (1:00)
Talk about Hermione after the Locket destruction (0:30)
Talk about the Deathly Hallows (1:15)

    TOTAL: 11 minutes.

Well, it wouldn't have hurt the film to be 11 minutes longer. I don't know...I'm still satisfied with what we got, though.

I wonder if all of that will be in the DVD then? Yates or Heyman did say we will have about 11 minutes in deleted scenes.

They said we'll get around 13-15 minutes so yeah. Yates said that he'll get 'a lot of deleted scenes'. So we'll be satisfied.

How much of this do we know was filmed ? Because, if it was, I fear we have another Order of the Phoenix case on our hands.

Who knows. But the longest running time of all these deleted scenes shouldn't be more than 20 minutes, tops.
With OotP we had 45 minutes of deleted footage. Now that's a lot.
With HBP we had roughly 10 minutes, judging from the script.
