Top 5 performances:

1. Emma Watson as Hermione- SHE STOLE THE FREAKING MOVIE! Amazing starting to end, especially for the Manor/camping scenes. And her screaming: I GOT CHILLS!
2. Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort- NAILED Voldemort's actions, expressions, and just the tone of his evilness. Plus, we saw alot more of him here.
3. Rupert Grint as Ron- SO GLAD he was far away from his comedic performance. AMAZING during the ministry/fight scene, plus at Malfoy Manor.
4. Peter Mullan as Yaxley- epic stare coming out of the elevator. That is all.
5. Daniel Radcliffe as Harry- not as good as OoTP, but def. his 2nd best performance. The beach scene was just heartbreaking. Plus, he was solid the entire film.

And he acted quite well in the Godric's Hollow scene, the part where he looks at his parents grave. I was a little worried about that scene, Dan kinda sucks at crying.

Do you think that the run-of-the-mill movie audience will know who's Scabior and who's Yaxley?

Of course, I'm not counting Alan Rickman and Helena Bonham Carter because they are beyond words. Awesome as always.

I didn't liked Ralph Fiennes' performance, though. But I think it's more a direction problem than an acting problem. It's just that I don't get the superb-villian feel.

    1. Ralph Fiennes
This is possibly because I'm a biased Voldemort fan, but I was delighted by his performance. I felt like it was perhaps the first time we really got a taste of who Voldemort is on screen.
    2. Daniel Radcliffe
I have to of course give praise to Emma for her acting, but I think she can sometimes be over the top, and makes me feel awkward, whereas I enjoy and appreciate Dan's subtlety as Harry. I thought it was his best job yet, though HBP was still great.
    3. Emma Watson
Despite sometimes being over the top, she was good. Her torture scene was strong. Again, I may be biased-- I am not a Hermione fan, although I appreciate her character well enough.
    4. Rupert Grint
Very good performance as Ron and I was happy to see his character finally gain more seriousness. He also seems rather dark... For instance, the scene in which he looks down at a Death Eater in the cafe scene and is tempted, very truly tempted, to kill him.
    5. Jason Isaacs
As always, I like subtlety in acting... Jason Isaacs beautifully and carefully showed Lucius' struggle. Even his appearance is battle-weary. His stubble and pale-faced look says a lot with few words.

Helena Bonham Carter was good, but as always, I am annoyed by Bellatrix. Just a personal thing. Alan Rickman was also brilliant but not seen enough. Luckily, he will have his place in the next film and I anticipate that it will be very good.

Oh, this is tough. I'm going to do top six because if I didn't, Dan would be bumped, and that's too mean for me.
    1. Rupert Grint - I always said, they never give him enough to do. He's a natural, he just needs some real emotion to portray and this gave him a wealth of opportunities. He has a bright career ahead.
    2. Emma Watson - The fact that the camera quite simply loves her face aside, Emma drew my eye in every scene. She had a range of emotions constantly playing on her features and the way her and Rupert played off each other was just a pleasure to watch. Her reaction to his speech was probably my most "wow" moment with her. Edit: I forgot to mention Emma as Riddle-Hermione. I think I might have actually said "wow" out loud when I watched it.
    3. Simon McBurney - This motion capture performance was brief, but extremely effective. I would have mourned the cutting of Kreacher's tale a lot more had it not been for how good his scenes ended up being anyway.
    4. David O'Hara - All three of the polyjuiced versions of the trio were good, but I have to give this one to Harry's double. The comedy was spot-on, but I was also very moved by the scene in Umbridge's office.
    5. Hazel Douglas - When Harry and Hermione turned around and she was RIGHT THERE, I jumped. This lady spooked me. When she spoke Parseltongue, I started freaking out, just in anticipation of what was about to happen.
    6. Daniel Radcliffe - Dan was excellent in this movie, it was a great mixture between his intensity and maturity in OotP, his comedy in HBP, and his natural ease in the best parts of PoA. I had to criticize him for some miscues that could possibly have been misdirection from Yates or bad editing (especially right before the locket scene where he was SO angry at Ron, no moment of being happy to see him initially), but despite those things, I think it was really the first time he seemlessly embodied the character and I never once thought, "what's Dan trying to do here?" Even with the weird moments, I believed it was Harry.
