lol how many times has this question been asked, and once again you cannot compare the two. Its like asking what do you prefer, the house or the furniture.
Overall Id say Books but i like Harry's character as potreyed in the movies. In the Movies the question of Harry's power seems to be resolved wereas in the books its ambiguous
PS - Book 'cause it has more information COS - Book again more information POA - Book because it doesn't single out Buckbeak as much and more background. GOF - BOOK cus they leave dobby out and Winky anddd Ludo Bagman I mean COME ON! OOTP - Book and film because i mean in the film they miss out ron and hermione being prefects - and they just can't bloody leave that out!! :( and the book better in someways because the fight it more explained and Sirius's death more emotional. But the film is better because it describes harry's pain better and how he fought it off although its slightly altered... so probababally over all -
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - Both, I just wish the film at the Midnight duel, and the potions challenge after the chess game. Harry Potter and the Chamber Of Secrets - Both, I just wish the film had the Deathday party, and Valentine's day. Harry Potter and the Prisoner Of Azkaban - The book. To much was cut especially Quidditch. Harry Potter and the Goblet Of Fire - The book. To much was cut. Harry Potter and the Order Of the Phoenix - Both, but the film came very close to being better.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - both, the book was shorter so there was more in the movie Harry Potter and the Chamber Of Secrets - book, the movie wasn't funny enough unlike the book Harry Potter and the Prisoner Of Azkaban - the book, there wasn't enough in the movie Harry Potter and the Goblet Of Fire - the book, there wasn't enough in the movie, especially the visit with sirius Harry Potter and the Order Of the Phoenix - the book, there wasn't enough in the movie, there should have been more with snape and sirius to show why harry would be so devestated by the death, there wasn't enough to show the bond between the two, in the movie, thought umbridge was great
Seriously, you need to get over this "everything from the books needs to be in the film" attitude. Because a) it doesn't and b) The film makers wouldn't be able to even if they wanted to because of time. But they wouldn't want to, cause if things from the book were put as the highest importance, then the film's quality would be sacrificed and just go down the drain, as proven by the Chamber of Secrets movie.
So if you carry on like it, you're just going to be disappointed by every book adaptation you see that's based on a big book.
The books are so much better! but i just know when i see the half blood prince with Dumbledore drinking that potion and saying "KILL ME NOW!" I'll just cry i reckonnn
Agreed. Given that books and films are extremely different mediums anyway, I cannot compare - I love both equally. The films are great for me and so are the books.
SS- book COS- movie(I don't know why even though they left put details) POA- movie GoF- book OotP- movie( really liked the ending but could have been extended) HBP- definetly the book(but movie was still very good) DH1- I would say both because it was really well made(movie/book)
The books are the best books I've ever read. The movies are incredible adaptations. If I could only read/watch one set for the rest of my life, I'd go for the books, but I'd be sad.

Sziasztok! Szerintem egy könyv mindig jobb, mint a belőle készült film. A kedvencem a Félvér herceg. Sok érdekességet találtam a fenti oldalon...
