Azkaban Prison

Hey everyboy! I have a question. I am doing a research paper on Azkaban prison. I need to know who founded it and when? I do not know if JKRowling ever said anything about it. I would also like to know if the Dementors always guarded the prison or if something else or someone guarded before the Dementors.

I'm sure in this-Azkaban was founded before 1. Wizard's War...But nobody know's date :D ...About the Dementors...I don't know :( ...

its on an island maybe dementors were made 4 azkaban dont no who founded though
