This was announced during the VMAs by Dylan, but I wasn't sure what it was about until I read that article. So basically, you submit a video to this site and in the coming weeks a number of people would be selected to run an actual maze. I guess you need to show you're worthy to be a maze runner in your video submission, either by being athletic or a huge fan of the books. It would air on TV, probably as a live event, on September 14. The winner would get one million dollars and a new car.
Fox’s “The Maze Runner,” based on the book by James Dashner, is on track for a $30 million opening when it bows on Sept. 19.
That’s quite an impressive feat–not just because the U.S. box office is having its worst summer in nearly a decade, but also because both males and females are saying they will buy tickets, which is unusual for a YA book adaptation. Even action-driven projects like “The Hunger Games” started out with women outpacing men in desire to see the film. And while the “Maze Runner” books are nowhere near as popular as “The Hunger Games” or “Twilight,” appealing to both genders could help the studio launch a movie franchise with the story of a boy whose memory is erased and must try to escape from a maze in which he finds himself trapped.
That's pretty good I guess? I've noticed Fox has really upped the marketing for the movie and I've seen it's been gaining some hype. We never get TV spots playing on our TV's down here until like a week or two until the movie comes out and they've already been playing them about a month in advance.
Exactly same feelings I'm having right now I really want to watch but now that its near I don't want to be deceive but since fans watched and said its good I'm less worry. I just don't want to be picky about it
I've hyped this up so much that I don't know how I am going to react when I'm watching it. But I'm still more worried about how it will perform at the box office and critically than how it will perform with my expectations.
“We are about nine weeks out from shooting,” he announced. “We are in New Mexico right now. We’ve got a crew and stages. We are rapidly approaching our shoot time. The sets are being built. A lot of the same crew is coming back. Most of the cast is coming back, except for the ones who were killed [in the first film]. The script is really coming along.”
"We have a lot more resources, a bit more freedom. We’ll continue to tell the story and pick up where the last one left off. What’s really fun about it is that we keep exploring these characters that you fall in love with in the first one. We just go into them in a deeper way. We get to be a little bit more mature and sophisticated in the movie itself. It’s also bigger in terms of scope and scale. But it’s also a much deeper film. So we are all really excited, pushing forward. The movie will be out in about a year.”
Holy shit. Out within the year?! And sets are already being built so I guess that's a huge sign that they are confident about the movie and probably are going to go ahead with it regardless of the result. Like it's such a small budget, I don't see how it could be seen as a fail at the box office even with a low number overall. That's crazy.
Hey Jason, I trust your opinion and I think you've been watching most of the stuff that's been released so I was just wondering what you thought overall of it so far?

The more I see, the more I'm impressed by the technical aspects of this movie. It seems like it won't be as faithful to the book compared to the Hunger Games adaptions, though. Which probably isn't a bad thing for this story.
Regardless, I honestly do feel like it would be a great movie, for fans and for casual movie goers.
So I really enjoyed the movie! It is still faithful to the book but with the obvious change and added scene to make a good movie. Only hardcore purist will complain but I was okay with it. The only disappointed I have is the dialogue. It is not that great but I was expecting it since the trailer. And Teresa is not that enough develop or feel important in the movie.
The movie is fast pace so there's no time to waist. The big scene that were important in the book are manage differently in the movie but still made sense. When they were already out of the maze I didnt want the movie to end already it past so fast!
The thing a liked most and impressed with was the sound effects! The maze noises, grievers! It is just so good! But you can still feel it was a low movie budget in some maze scene... I felt it really look like a set. But when its some big visual shots it is just gorgeous.
I really like how Wes manage the ending. It is different from the book but in a good way because it connect directly to the second book. And the last shot was just such a good tease for what's coming next and for sure they will need a big budget.
So yeah I feel the need to go rewatch it to give it a final rating and this time I will go watch it in IMAX. It was a good adaptation and I'm not disappointed of it.
I just have one burning question that I can wait to ask you guys and talk about after you watch it. Its the only change I'm really curious about.
Oh man I'm so curious to know what it is. But I'm glad you enjoyed it Sam. I'm just going to avoid asking questions about anything so I don't spoil myself.
Hahahahaha you're awesome! How did you know! Its exactly that! I must not be the only one who needs to know
I've seeked out spoilers from people who saw the movie, lol. Well, some spoilers. That was one of them.
I don't think he died. In the book Thomas almost beats Gally to death, and Wes and James mentioned saving that moment for the Death Cure. They probably did that to the character for shock value when he comes back. He'll mention something about being saved because he's immune, and they wanted to experiment on him.

Yes, wait for it. You won't regret it! I'm sure you'll enjoy it

That's really good then! I like how they're thinking further.

Not sure if I'll have time to go, though.

I don't think it is. It doesn't match movie poster quality.
