lmfao Idk is there really any competition? I have a very strong feeling that Divergent is to the Hunger Games as Percy Jackson was to Potter...lol
They are really different, but the media will try to pit them against each other. I like both for different reasons. It's a shame people are going to be bitchy about the two.
Does anyone know when EW will release their 2014 film preview edition? Because I was just thinking - they'd probably have the first Mockingjay stills. They'd probably have something from TMR too.

It was closer to the end of the month last year, I suspect it'll be the same this year. So maybe the 24th?

Too early. They'll probably stick to the same schedule as last year seeing as the movie is coming out at roughly the same time. First teaser trailer will more than likely be at the MTV Movie Awards on April 13th.
I think it's too early to show a preview. They have been on production like between four, five months. Maybe enough for a teaser (with scenes on District 13, and showing Peeta's rescue), but I don't think we'll see enough. I do wonder if they'll do a trailer for both parts like they did with DH.
Though I think it's unlikely since Lionsgate doesn't need to show the entire film and going with the "Epic conclusion of the worldwide phenomenon" line to sell the last two films. And the fact that they didn't exploted the whole "Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence" bit for Catching Fire and the film did ti very well shows that they have done a very good job with the franchise.
THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING Fire Passes IRON MAN 3 As Highest 2013 Earner
Lionsgate has announced that The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has surpassed Iron Man 3 to become 2013's top grossing domestic release. The movie has earned $409.4 million in the United States and Canada, just beating Iron Man 3's $409.3 million - though technically the latter still holds the title of highest grossing picture of the last calendar year. Tony Stark also has Katniss on the ropes when it comes to total global earnings, with a whopping $1.2 billion. Catching Fire currently sits at $838.2 million after seven weeks in theaters.
True. But I was saying that Catching Fire had a little of help in box office because of the IMAX. But they're totally going to expand the war so it's not going to be everything from Katniss's POV.
That isn't my point. I am simply telling you that without the domestic gross you wouldn't always have much of a total; and for that reason, it shows that the domestic gross is very important.

Lord Stafford.
It's an important part of the total, yes. But why is everybody always only looking at the domestic gross and not the worlwide gross? That just doesn't make sense to me.

I wouldn't say they're only doing that, but Catching Fire has just become 2013's top grossing domestic release so I can see why it is being looked at and discussed.

The domestic gross makes up so much of the worldwide gross that when a film flops, it is often because the film has failed to make any proper money domestically. Take away Catching Fire's $400 million and immediately half is gone, even with a still impressive $400 million.

...Nope. The only thing I have to say to this is unfuckingbelievable...
