ok I saw Catching Fire over the weekend and it was awesome my thoughts on the movie are it is leaps and bounds better than the first one. The pacing to me was just fine. Ive heard some people say it drags but I felt it moved at a brisk pace. My favorite moment had to be Johanna throwing a tantrum and say fuck you to the capitol. I don't care what anyone says I think there were definitely more onscreen deaths in this one than the first one. I think that I might feel that way because you could actually see what was happening this time around where as last time the shaky cam method used during the first movie kept you from really seeing the deaths clearly. The fog was creepy and the monkeys actually made me jump out of my chair. The spinning Cornucopia was really cool I really enjoyed that part. loved the ending and having not read the book I was convinced that Johanna had betrayed Katniss when she cut her it was only later that I understood she was cutting her tracker out. I loved everything about this movie. I definitely will now be seeing Mockinjay on Opening night. 10/10
Saw the movie yesterday. Definitely better than the first one. The acting was great and the scenes in the arena were so epic. Loved the fog and baboons.
I didn't like Safe and Sound by TSwift lol XD I really love the CF album. I can't stop listening to it especially Gale Song by The Lumineers, Everybody Wants To Rule the World by Lorde, Who We Are by Imagine Dragons, Elastic Heart by SIA, Silhouettes by Of Monsters and Men and Mirros by Ellie Goulding
As someone who enjoyed the first movie but lamented the lack of focus on the districts and other stuff, will I get that with Catching Fire? I really want to see this movie, but I don't want to sit through more action stuff. How much action is in it? Is there more focus on characters than action? Will someone help assuage my fear? Thanks.

So Crucify the ego, before it's far too late, to leave behind this place so negative and blind and cynical. And you will come to find that we are all one mind, capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable.
UPDATE: We’ve confirmed with Lionsgate that Antonius has been added to Mockingjay as a new minor character created for the film. He’ll be President Snow’s Minister.

There's definitely some more social commentary going on, including further explanation of the districts and how they are starting the revolution. There is more action in terms of a 2nd Hunger Games, but it is shorter, more stylish and ties in to the focus of rebelling against the Capitol at the end.

is there any like battle scenes in mockinjay? like fighting with guns or weapons. I would like to see some battle scenes. having not read the book I have no idea weather there is or not but Im hoping there is some kind of action set pieces since there will be no games.
Yeah i wonder about that as well, Catching fire didn't show much violence either. By showing the escape they might create an exciting action scene. Which will definitely help the first part of Mockingjay.
I think the issue with the violence in the first film is overlooked. The complaints that it's too quick to see are pretty weird, because in that film, it was kids made to slaughter other kids, for crying out loud. They're not going to put massive, heavy focus on it. In Catching Fire, it's far more present, because they're fighting adults, and I think for a war setting like Mockingjay, it'll definitely be seen.
The heart of MJ is its cruelty...it's a really cold and gray book. I think the plot and movie itself would be damaged if theu cut it out. Yet again, watching D11 scene in CF was really intense, more than I expected. So i trust FL to give the book's intensity fair justice
Its not surprising that the peeta rescue scene is in this film. Literay everything they can put in it will be in it. Theres not enough source material plus they will have to add scenes.
True, but they have done a brilliant job adding scenes that expands the storyline instead of adding filler. I went out of Catching Fire asking for more, even though they put practically a 96% of the book.
