Was Cinnas death perfect ? I dont want details just want to know if it was bettr than the book.
Just like in the book, the movie does not make it clear that Cinna is actually dead. He is severely beaten and dragged out with blood all over his face, while Katniss freaks out with another performance piece by Jennifer. It's one of the most similar scenes to the book, everything plays out exactly as written. I think it was an amazing scene, very thrilling.
If this movie is a supposedly a 'step-up' from the first movie to most people, I am so excited because the first movie still remains one of my favourite movies of all time. I love every minute of it.
So that chorus from the final trailer was a part of the score.
It's a vocal soloist. Though the cues where James reuses the themes of The Train and Rue's Farewell do have choir, better mixed.
Just Friends has the guitar solo from The Cave played on strings, likely as a love theme for Katniss and Peeta. We Have Visitors is played during the Snow/Katniss talk, and the clip had a 4 notes motif used in Cato's speech scene at the Cornucopia.
We're A Team and Let's Start has the Hunger Games 6 notes motif (accentuated with choir). Also, the vocal solist gives another sound for Katniss.
The first film had Katniss as a hunter and a victor, James gave her two themes and sounds (Katniss Afoot - cymbalom - Rue's Farewell - strings and choir). But here, he gives her another specific sound, and another theme, with the vocal soloist. I can imagine that he did it knowing about Katniss's tribulations in Mockingjay.
Since this is James's first sequel, it's interesting how he takes the sounds from the first film into this one. The mix has been improved, the synths are more in the background, and not in the over the top levels from Green Lantern and THG.
Oh, and also, the LET´S START TRACK is the COUNTDOWN track. I hope this makes the film and makes up for that track missing in the first one! Because I always wanted to hear that one on screen
Basically,it starts when Katniss is going up, the full strings with choir sounds when she's looking at the other tributes, then the percussion crescendo during the countdown, and it stops when Gale is in the woods.
But here is different. Listen to the beginning of The Games Begin clip, looks like it sounds when Katniss is going up to the arena and Cinna is being beated.
In 48 hours I'll be half way through! IM SO EXCITED!

1. The elevator scene with Johanna getting naked. Hilarious.
2. Toss up between Johanna and Finnick. They are both portrayed so well! I honestly didn't expect that performance from Jena Malone given how innocent she sounds in real life. Sam mastered the American accent.
3. Same as my earlier answer. Blowing up the arena.
Im not seeing it till friday OR saturday. Im working the premiere. But i dont mind because I will be wearing my pin and I will be crowd control which is a fun shift

Box office is going to be fun to say the least... I think DH2's opening day record is safe but TDKR non 3D opening record is fucked.
