    I've wanted to make a lengthy novel but I've never gotten the motivation to continue after like ten pages.

    I've got like 10 books on getting published and writing fiction... All signs of my willingness to procrastinate.

    I've got planned a novel series, that I've been thinking up the last few years. I want to really iron out the kinks and make the plot and character developments perfect before I actually start to write it though.

    I had some art hung in a gallery for like a year when I was kid.

    I dont remember what it was I just won a school competition. Almost no memory of it haha.

    Yeah I peaked in elementry school :(

    I have similar feelings, there's a trilogy/one book story that I have that I don't dare touch right now due to my obsessiveness with plotting it and making outlines and all that...

    It's no biggie, but I was part of the school paper crew for all my seven years of high school and I was head editor fot the last three. Writing is certainly one of my main interests. As a kid I used to write stories, but now I just don't do it anymore. I get these ideas and I get obsessed and then I just don't know where to start.

    I get sick and tired of myself now I start giving it thoughts... Everything I do, I just do it halfway. I paint, write, sew, play music and there's some talent in me for everything, but I'm just too lazy to get really good at one of them.

    Yupyup, that's me. I'm pretty sure I've got the first book's plot completely sorted, except the beginning, which I'm having a lot of trouble with. I need to figure out a way to make the first few chapters really effective.

    I'll go find the link soon seems the site goes down for maintence often but the challange is to write a full rough draft of 50,000 words during the month of November "National Novel Writting Month- so you could search it)...perfferably from a new idea you only have a few notes and/or outlines on. I first heard about it years ago- it covers all genres.

    I have 24 hours to plot and conceive a novel then another 30 days to write it...

    yay! glad you are going to try it, I have only started to come up with my story this past week. My friend Mary who I only know from a message board is trying it and another friend I asked wants to but has no computer but I am going to encourage him to find a way to get to a library or something. I probably won't be writting what you might expect from someone who also loves Harry Potter books. I have discoverd (with some disapointment) that I am best at quirky romances with humor (something I would have laughed about even trying 10 years ago) though possibly some dark agnsty sub issues.

    I'm going for a mystery/fantasy/spiritual if that's even a genre...

    Man loses his baby, wife's in a depression, he gets called to another world thinking his dead son ushered him there... He's like a prophet but only wants to find his son or sink into the grief. An old evil is swallowing that world unless he can spiritually find himself and get over the grief and guilt and fulfill his role as savior that he didnt want to be... That sort of thing lol

    I wrote 1,184 last night and I'm about to sit down tonight and see if I can churn out 1000 more... I always work all day on the weekends so I plan to make up the lost word during the week lol

    humm...everytime I try to find you I get a technical error message or some that are obviously not you come up and I think it's an encouraging way to help keep someone motivated but have them as a "writting buddy" and I got a mentor too. I'm Fire_Opal there maybe you'll have better luck with the search system. I've got 6,232 words just a little less that the needed average so I think I can catch up. The ideas are fine-the typing is what slows me.

    Hmm ill look for you tomorrow when I can connect my laptop to the Internet again. I'm behind due to work but if I can just get past this second chapter things are going to flow smoothly this week.
