That's why I said that these can barely handle it. Apparently, the game squeeze all the juice from these consols. Also, Rockstar said that GTA IV was build for the PC next-gen, which is why it barely worked.
This game may be seen as something pushing the PS3 and Xbox 360 to its limits, but with continued support for current-gen over the next few years, you can be sure that these consoles can handle the games coming their way. After all, look at how over the last few years the games have been getting bigger and better. They have, and to show just how powerful these consoles are, they're not being abandoned by Sony and Microsoft.
The PS3 and Xbox 360 won't suffer through next-gen. Sony and Microsoft are sticking with current-gen while making the full transition to next-gen, rightly, and that's being shown with some of the PS4 and Xbox One games remaining on current-gen. That will continue for a good few years, so besides being pushed, are the current-gen consoles really struggling to handle the games? They're not, but if they were, I could assure you that they would have been dropped by now, by system developers and game developers.
Rockstar's PC services have improved amazingly over the last few years. GTA IV has been patched to death but now it' a breeze to play in pretty much every capable PC. LA Noire was a great port that only had the 30FPS lock as a drawback. Max Payne 3 is one of the best PC versions for a multiplatform game in recent memory, everything's wonderfully optimized. So it's safe to say that GTA V will be amazing on the PC, I'm seriously considering waiting for it to come out on it, which will be the best version for the game, guaranteed.
GTA IV is all kinds of awesome on the PC; it worked and still works (yes, people still play it) more than fine for anyone I've ever asked. I played GTA IV on the PS3, while my cousin did so on the Xbox 360, and we've never encountered any problems.
I honestly like GTA IV better on PC than on Xbox 360, not only does it look remarkably better, there are exclusive features like Independence FM and extended multiplayer capacity (which is still indeed very busy)
