Personally, I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't like the John C Reilly moment, but the rest looks pretty solid (for a bootleg teaser.) I actually surprisingly like the tone of it.
People talking about a film that it's currently being filmed, and that people saw a small preview of a scene without finished FX, and score.
Definitely agree with this. Only time will tell how this movie ends up being and looking at the section of the leaked trailer and even in low def camera footage it looks nice. The things that bug me are the crappy Hasslehoff song and John C Reily's line reading.
Guys, it is supposed to have a dark humor, the song enters into that aspect.
And I stand by the fact that Guardians of the Galaxy is a very underdog comic book. So, I don't think Marvel would've pulled them out, before a lot of beloved characters such as Dr. Strange and Black Panther, as the next possible franchise of the Marvelverse, if they didn't had good material in their hands.
Still betting this will not only be the surprise of 2014, but the best film of Phase 2 (excluding Avengers Age of Ultron).
I'm going to have to disagree with the song channelling dark humor. It's a genuinely shit song that honestly made no sense to add to the trailer. Just my opinion though. It would be the same if you add I believe I can fly by William Hung, or a Rick Roll song. It's just awkward to me.
I definitely agree with that. I hope the script is good because as I said before this is the one Marvel movie I hope is very good. I like the stories, the characters ( minus raccoon) and the people creating it are very creative so it's going to be interesting to see what end up being created.
Dude (or girl? Don't know, hah), the song is explained by a simple thing: James Gunn.
Gunn has a twisted sense of humor, that is what put him in the director's chair (besides the reason of loving the comics). The song might've not fitted the trailer at all, but I gotta say I love when there is an oddball in charge of a promising story. Usually comes good things out of it.
Quaalude fight: because drunk fight is too mainstream.
GotG will be a hit. The song itself is a song from David Hasslehoff. So that is a big F U to him as well because he was Nick Fury before Sam Jackson. James Gunn is gonna introduce a team that everyone will love, don't judge based on a snippet of footage.

“Zero percent chance, sorry!” Gunn answered earlier today when asked what the odds were of seeing an official release for the footage. “I know a lot of you have seen the shaky camera footage, but it was made after 12 days if shooting and isn’t a true reflection of the awesomeness we’re trying to create for you.”

Academy Award-nominated actor Bradley Cooper has officially joined the cast of Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy," lending his voice to the fan-favorite raccoon that will join Peter Quill, Gamora and Drax on their epic adventure to defeat a cosmic force of epic proportions. Cooper has previously starred in "Silver Linings Playbook," for which he was nominated for an Oscar®, "Limitless," "Place Beyond the Pines" and the "Hangover" trilogy, the latter of which has grossed $1.4 billion globally. He will next be seen in "American Hustle" which will reunite him with "Silver Linings Playbook" director David O. Russell. "Guardians" will mark Cooper's first voiceover work.
"And that is an Official Wrap on Guardians of the Galaxy. My heartfelt gratitude goes out to all of you involved with this film. Everyone down the line has been one hundred percent supportive of me and the Marvel team at every turn, and although I can be harsh or hurried at times, it has not gone unnoticed or unappreciated. I feel profoundly fortunate to have been surrounded by the people on this film - because of your talent, your insight, your passion, your liveliness, and your friendship. From the cast to the producers to the costumers to the A.D.s to the stand-ins to the P.A.s to the extras to the stunties and on and on, this movie is what it is because of all of you. Thank you thank you thank you a thousand times, from the bottom of my heart. I love you all."
some stuff like the Groot maquette with Diesel looks awesome, and then some of the character mixing looks odd together. It could be a real nightmare to be a cinematographer on this because it could all look real goofy real fast. The more I see the more I hope this doesn't fail. I'm still in between on everything but with no footage besides leaked low res seconds of a trailer and production art it isn't much so I'm still holding out hope. I just hope this doesnt flop but this movie is such an odd one that only time will tell. *sits and watches from afar*
I'm afraid this is gonna be a high budget Power Rangers movie...
I don't like what Marvel has done, and quality drop is so plainly obvious. They were rolling, now it feels like they're cramming and rushing, iron man 3 felt like the worse and Thor 2 was worse than the first for me. Yeah I just don't know about this anymore...
I was incredibly disappointed with IM3...they took such a strange path with the characters and stories. I think that one is going to age terribly. Thor 2 was just kind of Meh. I feel like it didn't really push character development to where they could go and that's something Marvel movies have always had a hard time with.
Guardians of the Galaxy will be better. I count it. That teaser at the end of Thor was awesome. Benicio Del Toro is gonna make a great Collector.
See thats where opinions differ. A lot of internet fans, and reviewers and myself thought it was very odd and incredibly campy...I just hope he's a bit more tame in the movie but eh lol
