With Mark Strong saying "All I can say is... watch this space." I'd hazard a guess that he is already near enough confirmed in the role. I picture him as a villain (even as Voldemort at one point) and he often takes on the role of the villain in films, so I think he'd be a good pick.
Money speaks, but what does that mean for someone in the role of Batman? Does money mean you could bring Bale back, or could you choose Scott Adkins, who would undoubtedly cost less? Personally, I think they should go for Josh Brolin.
I don't know. If Bale's the batman, then Nolan's Universe and Snyder's Universe comes together... This would mean Superman would be off where? When Bane was terrorizing Gotham...
Because Nolan's Batman was made in a realistic world by his own. With MOS, they're trying to make a world where the heroes of the Justice League can co-exist in harmony. It's like if they're trying to put Tobey's Spider-Man or Bana's Hulk in Avengers.
And the point of TDKR is that everyone can be Batman, not only Bale.
It can still work. You can still visualize TDK trilogy on its own without combining it with MOS. Others can visualize combined... It would be something interesting.
I absolutely hate the idea of Bale returning...It's going to convolute and alter the mythos of the dark knight trilogy...
It also pretty much throws away the ending where Bruce had moved on and a new Batman had rose to the throne. It takes away that metaphor completely. They could get Bale but they would either have to address where Robin is, Cast JGL, or kill him off offscreen. You can't just have Bale pop back and not explain anything from the events of TDKR. What if they want to incorporate the Joker in a future Batman film? What in the hell do they do? They would have to explain what Superman was doing when a Nuke went off close to Gotham because lets be honest...if a Nuke goes off on US soil it's not going to be easily forgotten. It just creates so many script issues and complications...I don't like the idea at all. He had his trilogy. He shouldn't do it for the huge dollar signs and stick to what he had said before in interviews that the mantle of Batman should be passed on to another actor.
I honestly don't even think WB is thinking about any of this. All they know is having Bale back is a bankable success and they have their greedy little paws grabbing of Christian Bale, and dollar signs.
But the TDK trilogy has ended. It's over. The risk of casting Bale creates not only massive continuity and structural issues, but it weakens Nolan's trilogy. This new Justice League franchise has the opportunity to be great, but it also has the opportunity to massively derail. Linking it to the Nolan trilogy simply isn't a risk they should take if they want to preserve the greatness of Nolan's films. No, instead, WB is thinking with their eyes set on money, money, money. As usual. Such a shame and disappointment.
I have a belief because the material is pitch-perfect. They just have to get the tone right.
About Affleck: five years ago, I would abhor this decision, call them mad and shit. But Ben took such an excellent turn to his career, as a new director, just as an actor too, that I think this might work, in a very unexpected way.
I just didn't imagined that, with him busy on the director chair, he would be looking not only to train his acting chops again (he is the protagonist in the new David Fincher movie Gone Girl), but to go franchise.
Quaalude fight: because drunk fight is too mainstream.
I really don't know what to think of WB... They have far far better material than Marvel yet they make the strangest decisions in order to fuck that up
"If you make yourself more than just a man... If you devote yourself to an ideal... You become something else entirely- A Legend."
so does this mean Affleck will appear in the JL movie or will they recast batman again?
If Batman Vs Supes is a success then I'm sure he will be in it. I'm positive he signed a multi picture deal. WB would be stupid not to do anything of the sort.

I've been a big Batman fan my whole life and honestly Ben Affleck is at the bottom of my list as possible contenders for the role...
I love him... Im soooo down!!!!!!!!

Also, giving the fact that they want an older Batman, a guy with lots of experiences, but with charm, it's almost like Affleck in Argo.
