It's not just the concept that's crap, it's also the detail in the quality of the poster. For example, look at Percy's left eye (and then his right eye).
When I went to see MOS at midnight when the trailer came on someone made a pffffft noise and the audience was laughing at it.
These trailers look really goofy. No offense if you like them, they just look so...weird at least to me. The production design and sfx are a weird mix with the live action.
Is it true that Fox confirmed The Titan's Curse for 2015?
I think it is unbelievable they are still investing in this series. I just can't... For me, the main issue with Percy Jackson is that it fails miserably to convince me of its fantastic world. It looks... hm... "staged", fake. And that's one of the worst things to happen in a narrative.
Well, at least... if they Fox is still believing in Percy Jackson, maybe they will do the same with The Maze Runner even if it's not a break out.
@Henrick that's what I heard as well. I'm still wondering if they're sticking to the 'only a trilogy of movies' thing 'cause I don't think they're actually going to make 5 Percy Jackson films
1. Thalia's Story 2. Percy At The Lake 3. Colchis Bull 4. The Shield Is Gone 5. The Oracle's Prophecy 6. Cursed Blade Shall Reap 7. Wild Taxi Ride 8. Hermes 9. Hippocampus 10. Onboard the Yacht 11. Wave Conjuring 12. Sea Of Monsters 13. Belly Of The Beast 14. New Coordinates 15. Polyphemus 16. Thank You Brother 17. Kronos 18. Annabeth and the Fleece 19. Resurrection 20. Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters - Main Titles 21. To Feel Alive (IAMEVE)
IAMEVE performs Thalia's theme, according to what Freudenthal tweeted.
Don't think so. Also, most of score CDs doesn't include all the cues from the movie, and the names doesn't always need to spoil everything. But I assume that they cut some stuff, since that Freudenthal said that the film is 107 minutes long.

Is Fox retarded or something? I just realized that this is getting released on the same weekend of Elysium, Planes and We're the Millers. Elysium has been getting a huge Marketing campaign (at least here in Canada), and have the star system on its benefit. We're the Millers has received good promotion and well... R Comedies are definitely attracting more people to the movies. Planes should grab the younger/family audience.
Is Fox really counting only with the Percy Jackson fan base? I might be really wrong, but for me this will be one of the biggest failures of the year next to The Lone Ranger.
I just hope that they don't screw up with The Maze Runner. Makes me worried.
It was supposed to come out on August 16th. I believe that the studios have being releasing too many big movies on the same weekend, which is why there has being so many box office failures on this year. Anyway, the Percy Jackson fanbase has grew a lot since the first film. And the cast has two Hunger Games actors, so that has took interest on the THG fandom.
Also, it shouldn't be a failure like Lone Ranger since that it had half of the budget of Lone Ranger,
Percy Jackson fanbase grew a lot since the first movie? I doubt it. I actually think it is the opposite. The audience not only didn't care about the movie, but also hated it. 5.8 on IMDB is as low as the Twilight movies. The amount of fans that the series gathered after the first movie is not as close as the number of people who lost interest (including me - I'm not spending my money and time to watch this). And WHAT? There are two actors from The Hunger Games in the movie? SO WHAT? One of the actors is Stanley Tucci who is almost unrecognizable at The Hunger Games and the other is a girl that nobody knows and had, at most, 5 minutes screen time. Since when actors of another franchise that barely have any screen time in those will help the box office of another saga? This is non-sense. The two biggest failures of the years had two of the biggest Hollywood stars: Will Smith and Johnny Depp.
God, negative too much? The first movie, as much as it was hated or loved, allowed to introduce the books to lots of people. There was no fan accounts or websites related with the saga or anything until 2010. 226 million dolars in worldwide box office for a 95 million dolar film means that some people actually loved it.
It's true that Colombus ruined the franchise but they've being trying to fix it by bringing a new crew, changing some of the actors, and making the second film close to the book. Everybody recognized Stanley Tucci (who doesn't know him?) and Leven Rambin (who was already established in series like One Tree Hill before) from being in The Hunger Games when they we're casted as Mr. D and Clarisse. Also, most of the people acted the same thing when The Hunger Games was going to be released, saying that the film was going to be terrible and a flop, and it was a sucess. And we're having the rest of the books being adapted.
Unfortunely, don't get why people wants to Percy Jackson to fail and couraging fanfictions like The Mortal Instruments to turn into sucessful franchises.
No. Not negative. It is the reality of the industry.
The reasons that you are pointing out trying to justify that the movie won't be a box office failure are just... pathetic. The movie isn't even advertising Stanley Tucci in trailers and some other promotionals materials. And since when an actor in the cast is a synonym of box office success?
I'm not being negative, I'm being realistic. The movie will have other 3 potential competitors and I don't doubt that it ends with the worst opening of the weekend. I don't want Percy Jackson to fail - although I do think that Fox should have given up from this messy YA series. And what is exactly the problem with The Mortal Instruments becoming a success? Stop being so partial and blind by your fanaticism.

Glad they kept Grover in a dress thing, made me laugh in the book hahahah
So are they sticking to the book thing of Grover getting kidnapped? I hope so.

The bit for the scene of Thalia's resurrection sounds amazing.

Hope you like it!
