JK said No prequel to Harry Potter

JK Rowling was at Bath Literature Festival and she have been ask about writing more about Harry Potter serie
she said that she has no current plans to return to the series, if she did it would not be about the Marauders. The reason? She doesn’t find prequels to be any good. This would mean no stories about James, Lily, Sirius, Pettigrew, etc.

Elsewhere during the evening she said…
- Grindelwald never loved Dumbledore and used him.
- Her own first kiss came when she was 12 years old.
- Her next book will be aimed at 8 year olds, but she’s still busy writing it.
- Her proudest moment was when she outed Dumbledore (as gay), and following the revelation in New York City a fan came up to her straight afterwords and revealed that he or she too is homosexual.

Jo is of course right, being the creator and all. I never wanted her to write book eight, or anything related to Potter, without her knowing what was right, and if ever, when was right. How unnecessary would it be for Jo to write a book about Harry middle-aged, marrying Ginny, having kids, after all we have read, and after all she has previously written and released? From an epic story, to... well, something unneeded, since we already know what happened after the war.

Still, I would read anything she released, as she provided me with something that I often see as my childhood.

Thank God she wont do a prequel with the Marauders lol As most of you know I am definitely not a fan of the concept for the same reason she is cited as saying. It would be a boring set of books. The trio had a lot at Hogwarts to deal with due to the events at hand, but the Marauders in Hogwarts...what would it entail? 8 chapters of attempting to bother Snape and the details of their school lives? Yeah, I'll pass...lol

I'd love to see something with one of the Wizards or Witches she came up with for the Wizard cards (She gave all the info to EA games early on if youve read the bios on them in the SS/PS, COS, or POA games,) a book on young Dumbledore would be depressing honestly...even if it does sound fascinating. I think she's told us what she's wanted to tell us about those events.

Who knows if she will ever return to the Wizarding World. Only time will tell. The most any of us can do is speculate and ponder.

I'll be happy if she wrote one based in that world, but not about Harry. Maybe in a few years she can go back and write a 1 book story about some new characters.

Casual Vacancy wasn't that bad. It was a good novel but it was such a dissapointment after she had written one of the best series ever.

Oh, God. I was at this event, it was so amazing!! At the end I met her (she signed books for everyone) and had a (very) brief conversation with her! It was the most surreal moment of my entire life. I still get the chills when I think about it.
