“The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” hits theaters August 21 but fans are already eager for news regarding its sequel, “The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes.” Screenwriter Jessica Postigo Paquette took to twitter and informed fans that she is currently working on the director’s draft of the script.
When asked if she’s finished the screenplay for “City of Ashes,” she replied, “A while ago but writing is rewriting. Now I'm doing the director's draft, which includes his vision and visuals for the movie.”
Paquette also addressed a question regarding Raphael Santiago, a character in which Cassandra Clare recently confirmed would be in the sequel. When asked if Raphael would have cool scenes in “City of Ashes” Paquette tweeted, “I certainly hope so. But you never know until the final cut of the movie is done. Lots of things come into play.”

It is not going to win any new fans, which obviously doesn't point to box office success; but ask Adri if it was ever going to be a real hit, and you'll probably hear something back like "I am a fan, and this was made for the fans"
We'll have to wait and see, but in my opinion, looking at the budget, this will have a similar total to what Percy Jackson makes. It will never be a hit beyond that point, but that isn't the point of this or that franchise.

Lord Stafford.
Exactly what James said It's for fans so I like it. I enjoyed the film a lot. I'm not gonna go into technical stuff 'cause I really don't care. The book I enjoyed reading became a movie and that's not enough for me.
Whoa, 24%, that's lower than Beautiful Creatures' rating IIRC This may still bring more people because the books are way more popular, but I think the winner this weekend will turn out to be You're Next, with a whopping 91% rating, everyone will want to watch it.
