Just found this. Now im buying the theatrical cut.
- Owners of the theatrical cut release will get the first chance to see material from the second film in the trilogy, The Desolation of Smaug, using the Ultraviolet digital code that is included in the package. A live streaming event is scheduled to take place on Sunday March 24 2013 at 15:00ET, accessible only with the unique code in the DVD/Blu Ray released a week earlier. An edited version of the event will be released on the official website soon after.

So Crucify the ego, before it's far too late, to leave behind this place so negative and blind and cynical. And you will come to find that we are all one mind, capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable.
Of course it's impossible to understand to these people. They did the same thing with Yates (whining about OOTP and HBP, calling DH 1 and 2 cash grab, and still saying that he screwed up the book), and now they're doing it with Jackson.
Bullshit. I don't think Jackson would want any more money than the shitloads that he already has. He's proven that he's a true, avid fan and a huge Tolkien geek by giving us arguable the best literature-film adaptations of all time (and some of the best films, period.) It may be a cash grab by the studio, but I don't think Jackson is motivated by the money. He genuinely wants to create another masterful LOTR trilogy, even if it's not going to light a candle to the originals.

This is how I view it. Jackson loves the world of Tolkien...however I don't have full confidence in WB not trying to make money lol it's the business they are in and the more they make the happier they can sleep at night on their $3,000 pillows and $34,000 sheet set. lol.
Does someone know what special features the DVD/Bluray contains?
From what i've seen just the video blogs that were released throughout last year, but stores like Target and Best Buy are releasing featurettes of their own.
