While I agree that OotP continued the tradition of Potter movies not explaining important bits of exposition as far as the prophecy goes, I would argue against the notion that the prophecy is the hands down most important part of OotP. I think the film did a great job with Harry's character, establishing and building up to the Second Wizarding War (a thread HBP didn't continue very well), and Harry and Sirius's relationship. Hell, even the minor characters, such as Neville, Luna, Ginny, Fred, and George all got some great moments and development.
That said, the prophecy was still an important plot point that was for the most part glossed over at the end, which is a thing I definitely mark against the film. They should have addressed why Voldemort went after Harry as a baby, why Voldemort wanted it now, and what it meant for the rest of the series (which was addressed, so I'll give it that). They definitely didn't even need to go into as much detail as the book though.
I thought they did address why Voldemort tried to kill Harry all those years ago with the "The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches" line.
I think that's a pretty huge connection to ask the audience to make. I don't really think the film addressed at all what the prophecy meant besides for "neither can live while the other survives". Granted, Lucius does taunt Harry with the answer to why Voldemort attacked him as an infant, but the audience is given no pay off to those lines. Like I said before, the film really did not need to go into that much detail, but a few lines from Dumbledore over the key points were quite necessary.
I obviously didn't mean the actual words of the prophecy. But I suppose I need to go into great detail for fools who like the fifth film.
You seem to have a huge problem with differing opinions, yet you joined a discussion forum. I think it may be best for your sake if you do leave if this is the case, since you have too many issues with the whole point of a forum.
You, you Muggle. That's what's wrong with the world. Can't even exist without shits like you ruining the fucking moment.
Exactly what was this moment? The moment in which you were insulting the people who provided us with the films, and the moment in which you were insulting a fellow member, I take it?
I'm really glad you are leaving. Since your first posts, you proved to be a selfish, arrogant member. Now, you reached the limits of disrespect. It feels very good to see that you proved what I was thinking at first. Have a good one.
People have been giving her a hard time ever since she joined, so I think she does have a reason to dislike this forum. She went with style. Anyway, she's gone now, so we don't have to have this conversation anymore. I do think it's a shame we missed out on a great new member, even if you don't like how she tried to say what she was thinking, in a frustrated manner which was based on the frustrations I mentioned earlier.

People gave a hard time? There was just that episode in that thread and nothing else. She didn't move on and totally freak out in this thread. The forum doesn't need members like that. It harms the environment for good discussions and a peaceful flow of arguments. And it doesn't matter how much you like her. She offended people here and that makes her totally lose her reason and credibility. Nobody offended her. That's enough.
Stay, respect that this is a forum, not a tirade board like IMDB, where the people talk for themselves and look to kill as soon as they hear a differing opinion. Otherwise, just leave. Nobody will last long, insulting people here.

Differing opinion, Cathy failed to read and interpret my comment, showing a lack of basic literary and observation skills (obviously something to do with the fact that she liked the fifth film). That had nothing to do with opinion.
Well she did cross the limits (on several occasions as well, mind you), so a ban was warranted I guess. She could have been a good member had she learnt a little civility I presume.
i would say a mix between cuaron and yates. i loved Columbus too, but cuaron had a nice style. i think i just didnt like the music in the fourth film, but it was alright.
every time i dropped off the swearing hit me in the face and i woke up. i take it she's banned then. good, i don't want to be a victim of that. someone would have to hold me.

Funny enough, she didn't follow any of those in this thread and her attitude was already enough for a Ban.

I was Skyping with James and we both agreed that banning would be reasonable enough. What she wrote about me is beyond too far.
