This new cover released by Scholastic actually looks great!! I have liked the Bloomsbury editions' covers more than the Scholastic ones in general, but I will admit that the US ones did get better as the series progressed. The earlier American ones (particularly 1,2,3 and 4) looked so cluttered, but they improved tremendously with 5 and 6.
Infact, for me, Book 5 (US edition) > Book 5 (UK edition) and Book 6 (US edition) > Book 6 (UK edition). Though only just.
For the people of the US, it would suit being released on the 1st of September, 2013, since that was when (in 1998, obviously) PS, not SS, was released in the US.
okay. have you seen that picture that says "The Battle of Hogwarts is in the same year as the first book was released: I open at the close." I was like, lol no. The first book was truly released in 1997. what do you think of the new (ish- maybe a year old now?) uk bloomsbury covers?
Last week Scholastic, the global children's publishing, education and media company, revealed an all new cover for 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone'- the first of seven new covers that will appear on U.S. trade paperback editions coming in September 2013 to mark the 15th anniversary of the U.S. publication of 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone'. The art for the new editions is designed by critically acclaimed artist Kazu Kibuishi.
I don't know whether to order it now or wait for the others, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere they were going to do a complete box set of the seven. It would be great to have them in a box with cool artwork like the original paperback set.
I was just at Amazon and found they have the complete set up for pre-order. The original price for it is $100, but their price is $63, which would include free shipping. I didn't recognize it for what it was at first because they show it with all black covers, then I saw that it said 'art to come'. The box set will be a little less than the individual prices.
I just want all diff. covers of the HP books XD I have both Brit and American ones and my parents actually think there are more than 7 HP books. They aren't aware that I have at least 2 copies of each book in diff. covers XD

I wish Mary would redo the first four books with the wispy-color theme of 5-7. Those I really liked.
