Better than season 1 with some fantastic acting by Jessica Lang, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe an Peter Evans. There's more continuity in this season which is also a very good thing. The alien part wasn't that good but thanks to an emotional finale, it's easy to forgive that storyline.
Colin Firth gives an impeccable performance as Tom Hooper does very well in telling a truly wonderful story of the troubles that King George VI faces with his speech impediment and the struggles that it presents for himself. It is a very heartfelt film, not to mention the charming score by Alexandre Desplat that gives this film a great essence.
Warm Bodies(2013, Jonathan Levine) Comparisons to a source material is not something that I particularly enjoy but, sometimes, it's inevitable. I read Warm Bodies 2 years ago and while I wasn't impressed by it, it had some interesting moments. The movie? As an adaptation, there are a lot of changes: for the good and for the bad. Thankfully, the screenplay written by Jonathan Levine turned Julie into a much more likable character - even if it misses her "bad-ass" personality. One of the main things that bothered me in the novel was her, and over here, honestly, her character is much more enjoyable. I also liked the fact that the movie didn't explore pop culture items and symbols in excess and the book does. It's natural and fits the mood nicely. In the other hand, some other decisions turn the movie into something sillier than it should be. The satire tone is constantly present in the book, while in the film, by the middle, it is left behind and what we have is a narrative that meets and sounds like the banal premise of "zombie loves girl". Besides, there's a dramatic change in the climax that I didn't understand very well why the director aimed for that decision. The climax loses it's drama and it's just... embarrassing.
Anyways, leaving this conversation of book vs. movie to the side. Warm Bodies is a well acted movie with some really smart humor and a great soundtrack. If you can get through the premise and the silly moments, you'll have a nice, but forgettable, time.
Silver Linings Playbook An amazing twist on the classic rom-com genre, for the good and for the bad, that's powered by tremendous performances all around, especially the main couple. 9/10
When it comes to fantasy and the imagination of these wonderfully thought up worlds, I have a real soft spot. This is the case here. It was beautifully executed and had some nice elements at times. Charlize Theron is no doubt the star actor in this and James Newton Howard also impresses me with what I think is one of his best scores I've heard. Not to mention some amazing visual effects too which were very impressive. The pacing is a bit of a problem though, especially at the end which is very abrupt, but nonetheless, it is a satisfying experience.
This is a truly wonderful story that is told so breathtakingly. There are scenes where you just feel the devastation of what has happened and then there's those scenes that just capture the emotion so beautifully. The reunion scene was an unforgettable moment which had me on the verge of tears (which is a big thing for me). Maybe I went into this with my expectations a little too high though, there was just that part of me that wanted a little bit more but that being said, it's still compelling, emotional, cringe worthy at times and of course melodramatic and proves to be an emotional and intense ride.
I didn't enjoy this as much as I thought I would. I just didn't really find it very appealing or compelling. However, it really does give you a clear idea of what went on behind the scenes of finding Bin Laden and the end is quite suspenseful.
Side Effects(2013, Steven Soderbergh) A sexy and smart thriller with a lot of shocking - even if not truly plausible - twists featuring a powerful performance by Rooney Mara.
A series with many ups but also many downs. This show became an example of a show becoming the victim of it's own popularity/hype. Which happens to a lot of series. While there was a notable decline in quality seasons 2-4 weren't that horrible. One of the best aspects of the show, even when she has a very small role, was Jayma Mays' Charlie. Thanks to some great acting Charlie became such a likable character, it is impossible not to root for her having a relationship with Hiro. Another great aspect was Hayden as Claire, though her character became a little whiny.
Overall, the show was not so bad as the whole "this show has become so bad"-hype makes it look.
I've seen the 1985 revival of the Twilight Zone, decent show but the quality of each episode are different. When it's bad, it's bad. But when it's good, it comes close to awesome.
Watch the originals, Some are creepy as fuck. If you can watch these:
"Eye of the beholder" "Five characters in search of an exit" "Time enough at last" "Nightmare at 20,000 feet" "Stopover in a quiet town" "Its a wonderful Life" "The Masks"
Not an "over the top" comedy but it was good. the CGI looks so freaking lifelike, quite amazing for a movie that came out in 2001. I could watch it again.

No A brilliantly shot political film that seamlessly inserts archive footage throughout the story, resulting in a powerfully real picture that only gets held back by few editing hiccups. 9/10
The Sixth Sense provides the chills, scares and intelligence of the story to bring together a satisfying thriller with solid performances and good direction.
First time im introduce to this serie(always was a Star Wars fan hehe:P) and it was a really good watch! I enjoyed this movie...Great special effects and the cinematography was good. They're were so many popular actors and they all fit in the story...I'm looking forward to the next one!
A good pop corn movie night...some funny moments... I think I enjoyed a little bit more because it was filmed in Montreal(my city ) it was nice to see places you know and walk there... even tho they say it in USA :P
Ahhh, this was just such a good movie. I loved it in so many ways. The acting is some of the best I've seen collectively, and if Jennifer Lawrence doesn't win, I'll be furious because she was just unbelievably good in this. Wonderful direction and a superb script to go along with an intriguing story that provides a perfect balance of comedy, romance and drama all into one. Very happy with this one
I honestly believe Bradley Cooper's performance should win instead of Daniel Day Lewis'. In Lincoln, I always felt like I was watching a character, a perfectly impersonated character, as opposed to in Silver Linings, in which Patrick always feels like a real person. Bradley's take on the character's agonies was just brilliant.
So I just watched the movie @Henrick . Yeah, it was a good sad story, but it was like there was no ending and it has to be continued. This movie is hard to critique. I guess i'm supposed to feel sympathy for the bully at end, but im not lol I don't mean it's okay what happened to him...it was a little bit extreme yeah...but in real life when I was in school and if someone was picking on me I had my brother and his friends to help me and they know after that they can't mess with me. But here, to do a plan and try to humiliate him was not gonna work. Cause im sure after that he'll just come back and take revenge. But anyway, its a good movie that make you think and question things at the end.
Hey Sam, I'm glad you liked it. But we have some things to discuss.
I don't feel that the movie is incomplete. Sometimes, we have to let the movie continue in our own heads (and that's why I love Mean Creek). By doing so, you are not only able to hypothetically talk about their futures, but also think of how their lives would go from that point, and I think that we have a pretty good conclusion from this point of view. And, probably, if the movie continued, they would be judge, while it wasn't an intentional crime. Finishing the movie earlier is like avoiding the obvious and giving the spectator a chance of having your own conclusions.
And I'm really, really, really glad that you didn't feel sympathy for George. So many people get the wrong message while watching this movie. The movie is not trying to humanize "Bullies" and their acts. The movie don't want you to feel empathy by a bully. The movie simply expose bullying as a such common activity that even from a children that you could never expect, you can be a target. If you notice, the annoying, fat, lonely kid in the movie is not Martin, Sam, Millie, Clyde or Rocky. It's George, and he could be such an easy target for bullying. Instead, the movie portrays him as the Bully. And that's very very interesting. Bullies can be someone you would never expect to be. And if you notice, bullying is also inherit to groups of friends. If you take Marty and his relationship with Clyde... That's a perfect example of that
And the plan... Well. "If" are just possibilities, right? I highly doubt that if he survived he would take revenge. That's why the movie ends with his video/voice over. It's not for you to feel empathy, but for you to see that in bullying there's not bad X good. There are just people that practice bullying because they can't adapt themselves. It's really interesting
Like your point of you But I like the message in this movie...First time I watched that type of movies do you know others like that? or If you have other movies for me to watch...im glad to watch them
Clyde : He seems like a nice guy ( he made me think of you :P ) he's like every other teenagers who wants to have friends and trying to be accepted even thought with his father story that make him look bad.
Marty: Pity for him...no one is here for him so he drink and smoke to get things out of his mind. Also like in real life...It's all real situation that peope can go trough you know.
Awesome. They are my two favorite also. I really identify with Clyde. I like how he is fragile but at the same time he is the only one to face and confront Marty. He is like the consciousness of the group. And Marty is an amazing character from every point of view. He might be the the deepest one.
Last movie I saw at the cinema: Les Miserables. An okay film, but I'm not sure I'd rave over it. I had some difficulty grasping the plot, but then again, I've never seen the Les Miserables musical in a theatre. Therefore I can't really give Les Miserables movie a value out of 10.
Warm Bodies (finally got to watch it!) An entertaining movie that manages to bring new things to the zombie genre, but also seems to not be able to define its own identity. 6/10
Beautiful Creatures(Richard LaGravenese, 2013) It has some smart humor, nice acting - specially from the supporting cast (Emmy Rossum is a delight) - and some interesting sequences, but the plot is way too silly to take it seriously. It's a shame all of this comparisons with Twilight, though. I feel that every YA adaptation will now be compared, somehow, to one of the worst sagas ever crafted, and that's totally not these new productions fault.
I was amazed, the performances were outstanding. Emma and Ezra were the standout performances. Emma's accent was insane, almost forgot she was british. I wanna see it again, gotta buy the blu ray and go read the book.

O Som ao Redor (Neighboring Sounds) Not only an interesting character study with a tremendously surprising conclusion, but also a movie that finally portrays the true soul of Brazil. 9/10
Beasts of the Southern Wild - 8.5/10. Simply stunning, this film is a tour de force of acting, directing, writing and photography. Such a beautiful, sensual experience, an elegant and poignant hymn to life and the communities we live in. Definitely recommend it!
This was quite an interesting film, it was quite gloomy but in a good way. The relationship that these two characters form is a very believable one though and I think it was handled really well.
