For you people that disagreed, did you even watch Silver Linings Playbook?
If you did, and think that her performance in The Hunger Games is better, honestly... Just rethink what you know about acting and performances.
Jennifer can be nominated for Silver Linings Playbook for those "official" awards... which are only nominated by and voted by stick-in-the-mud high-and-mighty people. I disagreed with you, because Hunger Games was a much better movie for award shows like People's Choice Awards... and all the awards it got last night proves that. It was voted by fans, fans who love the series. Just the fact that it was nominated, and Silver Linings Playbook was not shows you what they were going for, and they did it right.
Guys I wanted to ask you something. I´ve been checking a summarize of CF online (I have no time to read it again) and I forgot how dense the book is. Just the thing before the quarter anouncement are long enough to take time, and then the pre-games stuff (meeting the tributes, training, the interviewees) would take another ammoun of time; finally the third act (the games) are fast paced but they also have a lot going on.
With all this happening, how long would you say a decent adaption of this book should last? The first part is a roller-coaster of events, all leading to a building tension. Some could say, let´s just resume the pre-games part, it´s the same all over again, but I don´t think so. In this part of the book, precisely, there are many important parts and hints to the plan they had all the time (important stuff like betee and wiress in the training sesion, the mockingjay dress, the tributes holding hands together) The games have also little episodes this time, they last less than the first book, but also more important thing happen one after another, because katniss is with more people this time, and thus, more interaction between then, and more dialogue scenes than in the first games. We get to know each of them, we have the final plan they set up, we have the execution of this plan....pff so much going on, until they rescue Katniss and then the last part about the bombing of disctrict 12.
I mean, I am really conflicted, I am NOT a purist, but EVEN with the "adaptation" part and making many things shorter than in the book, I can see this film running for at least 2 and a half hours. But I fear that they shorten it just because marketing pruposes I´d like to know your opinion folks
I have a lot of confidence that this one will be the best of the 4. I don't know why, I just feel like Catching Fire has the biggest potential, if done well, to be a huge success.
I agree, the book is the weakest of the three, and it seems that the filmmakers are working hard to fix the mistakes on it, but keeping coherency as a standalone film.
I think they will risk Catching Fire being longer than the Hunger Games, they know that there is interest in the franchise (the almost $700 million grossing of Hunger Games) and that people will watch it.
Catching Fire is a very dense book too. I don't envy those who have to decide what gets cut and what stays.
I hope it can also say ACADEMY yony!!! How do you see her chances....I think her biggest treat if Chastain, shes a favorite. The others dont worry me at all
Do you think Lionsgate will release the first teaser during the Superbowl this year?
Last year, Lionsgate announced they weren't releasing a trailer as Superbowl-viewers weren't their target audience, however later on decided to release one during the pre-show.
Now probably with a bigger marketing budget and with no footage released, could we get our first look at this year's Superbowl (Feb 4)?
I really hope we do. Releasing the first teaser during the Superbowl would be really good as it's watched by millions of people (100 million).
(I just copied all that from IMDB because I couldn't be bothered to re-type it).

Jen won Best Actress in an Action Movie at the Critic's Choice Awards.
She won again for Best Actress in a Comedy for Silver Linings Playbook.
Interviewer: And How's Catching Going?
Jennifer: Very well. Yea. We've just got a little over a week left.

ALL IN ALL, The story has the potential to be the best of the entire franchise. I am eager...

"The sun persists in rising so I make myself stand."
I thought they used Simon's draft and Michael used it as a base, but I guess not.
So it's not really re-shoots.
Hope you like it!
I hope the teaser trailer comes out somewhere in march or something like that
Hope you like it!
MainstayPro filmed another Hunger Games short. It's called The Hanging Tree and it'll be out on Feb 8th.
Hope you like it!
