They're the same idiots who think that Stewart is a great actress. I mean, watch the scene where Katniss is about to enter to the Cornucopia.
It was masterful, to say the least. The way she is shaking but without making it too obvious, it was like she was scared the hell of the situation but trying to appear calm. I was really impressed!
5. The reaping 4. The conversation the night before the games. 'I just don't want them to change me.' 3. The Feast: Clove is fierce and Thresh showing up! 2. Rue's death/The Riot 1. The countdown/the bloodbath. I count these as one, because I can't pick between the two!
They cropped the aspect ratio from 2:35:1 to 1:85:1 It's very common for smaller distributors to do this because they try to appeal to a wider level of customers. Here in Brazil there are ignorants who think the 2:35:1 "black bars" are cutting the movie's picture, so lots of Blu-rays come zoomed in like this.
I've re-watched the movie couple of days ago. I enjoyed a little bit more this time. For me, the beginning, the whole district 12 sequences, the reaping, are perfect. It's bold filmmaking and couldn't be done better. I love the sense of urgency and danger. Although, when they arrive at the Capitol, things are not quite as good as it could be. I still don't like some art direction and set design choices: I find them particularly bland and not inventive. As for the games, I also still thinks that they are not very intense. I have no problems with the script (maybe some creative improvements could have been done, but that's it), but I do think that Gary Ross is not the visionary kind of director. And this series asked for one. But I liked more this time. The performances are amazing, and honestly? For me, Woody Harrelson is the standout. He steals every scene he is in.
Well.. And what he wanted is really ugly. As I said, he is not the visionary kind of director. It doesn't matter if he knew what he wanted, I didn't enjoy what he wanted.
After watching the special features, Gary Ross was actually so passionate and driven to make a really good adaption. Hopefully Francis Lawrence takes us deeper into The Capitol.

I'm not sure if anyone has noticed this, but I just visited district12.pn and noticed that they updated their cover photo about 3 weeks ago. It kinda teases Catching Fire:
