Hey, the rotten reviews hardly mean anything. Only 6 people didn't like the film out of over 40? And those who are giving it positive reviews are praising it for its epic scope, thrilling action scenes and triumphant conclusion. A lot of the negative reviews are just criticizing its length and calling it bloated. This mirrors the exact reception that Return of the King got when it came out, and look where that film ended up.

In fact, half the negative reviews basically say No Ledger = No Good, the other half call it long, and yes, I even saw one that said that Bane needed more sex appeal. Ridiculous. Anyways, they're valid opinions and I'll respect that, but there's no way it's going to have any effect on what I think of the film (and I know it will be magnificent.)

No, just face the cold hard facts that Avengers Assemble is the better comic-book movie of the summer. It has 92%, this has 87% on Rotten Tomatoes therefore it is not as good.
    Yep.

RT consensus (after only 44 reviews):
The Dark Knight Rises is an ambitious, thoughtful, and potent action film that concludes Christopher Nolan's franchise in spectacular fashion, even if it doesn't quite meet the high standard set by its predecessor.

    LMAO

The only good comic book movies I've seen are Hellboy and Hellboy II.
    Oh please.
I take that back. I did enjoy Thor.

Guys, don't be disheartened, people are loving it, here are some more reviews snippets (no spoilers:)
GRAND, grim and sometimes gruelling, The Dark Knight Rises is a suitably impressive and ambitious conclusion to Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. It doesn't have quite the emotional intensity of the second movie, The Dark Knight, but it's a powerful, intricately constructed work, thoughtful, visceral and satisfying.
Nolan aims to capture our minds and also to dazzle our eyes, and he succeeds admirably on both counts.

The Dark Knight Rises is not just the summer’s grandest blockbuster, but also one of the year’s best movies.
To whomever takes up the directorial reigns, however, I can only say two words: Good luck. You’re not going to top this.
However, this is a good finale, it's the Lord of the Rings 'Return of the King' for superhero movies and it's unlikely you will find a better superhero trilogy for a long while if ever. Nolan has managed to achieve with this, what presumably Ang Lee was aiming for with this version of the Hulk.
But Nolan’s novelistic epic also boasts some of the most outstanding action set pieces in the 21st Century, all the more ‘wow’-some for their minimal CGI, plus some totally ace new Bat toys. Bold and beautiful. A superhero movie with true muscle power.
Really, there is no need to fret or fly off the handle about “The Dark Knight Rises” because it is the most compelling film of the summer. Yes, it’s better than “The Avengers.” In my view it will not disappoint even those who, one year ago, marked the July 20 release date on their Microsoft Outlook calendars, then blocked out all of July 21 with an appointment entitled: “Stop Living, as Life’s Purpose Will Have Been Fulfilled.”

Well that settles it, this Friday I'll be popping in my Dark Knight blu-ray rather than making a trip to the cinema. :)
Hmm, so this is how you really feel about me? I'm just a worthless pig? I know it's a lot to expect from strangers, but I feel right now like nobody really cares. Like if I killed myself nobody would give a fuck. Including my family and so called friends. I mean nobody likes/loves me for who I am.

No. Hallows 1 seemed to receive far worse reviews than TDKR.
Not everyone loved it. I didn't. Or initially I did, but in hindsight it was nothing to write home about.

Well this is just the most ridiculous thing I've ever read. Why form your own opinions on a film when you can visit Rotten Tomatoes?

That's because it was just as poorly structured as the novel. :)

It's contrived, has hackneyed political and philosophical commentary, poor female writing, boring action, elongated run time, and a final act that breaks down because of the hackneyed political and philosophical ramblings. The Joker is the worst thing to happen to that movie because all of these complaints are predicated on his unfortunate presence.

The absence of an omniscient character is one reason why I think I'll like TDKR.

I will say this about TDK: I have not seen it in years, so my opinions are based off how I felt then. It is entirely possible that if I were to watch it again, I could change my tune. I did this with Inception, a movie I love to watch now and find fun as hell.

This actually happened with me when I re-watched HBP a couple of months ago. I used to dislike it, but I found it pretty good now.

To the bitch that said "The Avengers is a better movie because he had 92% on Rotten Tomatoes and The Dark Knight Rises only have 87%", on metacritic, The Avengers have 69 and The Dark Knight Rises have 82... Please don't put shitty Avengers in the same sentence as the Dark Knight... And score means nothing...Inception "only" have 86% and got 10 Oscars nominations, including Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay
