The only thing I wish is the Malfoy's fate being more clearly shown. Like the deleted scene of draco giving harry his wand.
That scene was surely not necesarry I believe. That would have looked a little awkward watching Drace being what he has never been in the whole story plus I agree with Sarah. The elder wand was undoubtedly more important.
Who didn't get a needed character conclusion in Part 2? Hagrid? The conclusion to his is the whole symbolic carrying Harry thing. And then he even hugs Harry at the end. I mean, what more do you want? (okay, something from him earlier in the film). I don't think Hagrid being in he Forest is nearly as jarring/bad as you guys make it out to be. He got captured. I don't think a scene establishing him as being there would' e gone a long way in being a conclusion to his character.
McGonagall? I mean I guess you could've included a shot of her in the Great Hall but it didn't need much.
The trio, Snape, Voldemort, The Malfoys, Neville, and Luna all got pretty decent endings IMO. Not many other characters really matter IMO.
Yes, there was a lot cut, but that's how it is with lots of movies. The Amazing Spider Man got a lot cut, but it was pretty amazing (pun intended lol). However, that didn't stop fanboys from writing things on how the stuff cut screws up the film. Somehow, though, the film isn't screwed up to mainstream movie goers who found the film to be pretty good and plenty comprehensible.
No, it really is incredibly jarring. I'm just assuming there was stuff with him cut because they couldn't be bothered or didn't have time to finish the CGI on him, like with the Lupin/Tonks death scene they wanted to film. It's poor storytelling to just have him turn up with no explanation, much as it is with the whole Lupin's kid debacle.
McGonagall I'm not so bothered about, because they actually gave her a bit of time. It would have been nice if our final impression of her wasn't mourning Harry's apparent death though.
The trio, Snape, and Neville I agree on, though I could have done with Ron witnessing Fred's death and seeing his reaction to that in realtime. For some reason they took the most dramatic meat they had to work with and stripped it off the bone. Snape and Neville's were vital to the plot though, so it would have been hard for them to avoid giving them some closure. I will never stop being disappointed by how atrociously Lupin and Tonks were handled. The Malfoys were OK, mainly Draco, as I feel Lucius and Narcissa could have been handled less vaguely. Every Weasley aside from Ron was consigned to window dressing mode, and Molly's big emotional catharsis for the unseen and almost completely unacknowledged death of her son was a complete damp squib as a result. Bellatrix was reduced to a couple of cackling reaction shots and just wasn't threatening anymore. Luna turned up randomly at Hogwarts only to disappear for over an hour. I thought it was out of character for Slughorn not to voice doubts about fighting Voldemort, but there you go.
There are probably more of them. I know most people won't agree and they're happy without the secondary characters, and that's absolutely fine. I just feel if they're going to develop them up until the last movie, it's a shame to have 90% of them stumble off-screen instead of giving them a proper send off.

My only theory was that they wanted to make it as short as possible so that cinemas could have more showings of it.
Combined with 3D sales, a shorter film with lots of viewings is an easy cash grab.
Lord Stafford.
Now thats starting to make me think how much was cut from TDKR!
