Good times. Does anyone else remember watching this trailer? Gosh, brings back good times. Its hard to believe that was over 2 years ago!

This trailer has a so much different feeling than the actual movie does. I kind of wished the actual movie had this magical and spectacular feel to it like these trailer. They capture my exact feelings that I get when reading the DH book. Does anyone else feel like this?

Sorry for my nostalgic rant. :)

Can't believe it's been two years. Then again, I struggle to get my head around the fact that it's been half a decade since the final book came out. It feels like it was a year ago, tops.

They are certainly atmospheric trailers, but I think that's more due to the music than anything else. I remember that shot of the Death Eaters outside Grimmauld Place in the rain got me super excited to see how Yates was going to really explore Voldemort's regime. I thought that was going to be done so well. He always seemed interested in trying to show what was going on in context with the real world and I expected us to see how they affected the Muggles as was hinted in HBP...and we never really. Potter to me was always at its most interesting when it was coexisting with the real world, and something as big as Voldemort's coup could have been explored in those terms, especially with the added runtime of two movies. Maybe we could have had a "real world" scene instead of that redundant train scene with Neville which made completely no sense. There was even more of a real world context in the novel.

Yeah, forgive me for my rant. :P

^I definitely agree with this. Part 1 was brilliant but I was really looking forward to how they would handle the aspects of the real world. I think it would've definitely given the film a cohesive flow to cut around the Wizarding World and explore the various dangers that Voldemort posed rather than from one Trio moment to the next, which gave it a sort of episodic feel. It also could've increased the intensity and danger of these trio moments. I definitely think I thought that both films were going to be way bigger in scope than they actually were. Still, I love the way that both of them turned out, even with their flaws.

I agree, Braveheart and Aaron. A bigger focus on how scary Voldemort's regime was and just how desperate they were to find Harry would have been welcome.

I can't believe it's been almost a year since DH2 as well. :( I already miss when Potter was more prominent.

    Here's hoping for a Founders book :D

Lol. It's funny that a year ago there was a post about The first aniversary of The DH trailer and a complain about that the films weren't as good.

But yeah, I think that they could have exploted more The idea of having two films based on the same book. Both films we're filmed in a 12 months period, but it doesn't look like it when you watch them.

It was 16 months, they started in February 2009 and ended June 2010, and that will always piss me off in terms of story and what they could have done. I still enjoy the movies don't get me wrong, but I was expecting more with character development not with just the Trio, but with the other character that we grew to love.
