I just don't see the need for 'The Hunger Games' when the characters are the same, the marketing, posters, trailers will no doubt be the same styles and shit
'Lord of the Rings' has relevance, and is one story.
And aren't the Hunger Games part of each book?
There are no Hunger Games in the last book, but "The Hunger Games" in front of the title is something so trivial I'm surprised anyone even bothered to mention it. I always assumed it was a given.
Ash, did you find it a colossal insult to your intelligence when "Part 1" and "Part 2" were in the titles of DH? Isn't that spelling out as well?
I'd be mad if this hadn't already happened with the Twilight series. But I'm used to it now so honestly, I don't care. It's not going to effect the movie.
The reason why some people are finicky about the title decision is along the same exact lines as why people were finicky and in panic attack mode about every single little change and omission in the Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings films: because it's not the same as their precious source material, so it's wrong. Whether or not the change or omission was actually bad or good is a far more debatable element.
I don't think it's trivial, we have all have things that are important to us, some people stand up for the rights of homosexuals, while others wish to eradicate famine. I don't care about gays or hungry people but I am a casual fan of The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay and in turn was looking forward to seeing these books adapted to the big screen, correctly titled. You don't have a problem with the title? Excellent. But some of us do.

So, fans.
THIS. Once again, people who don't appreciate hard work because of a stupid detail.

Ash, I thought you hated THG film and sort of gave up on the film series?

I mean having a problem with the title is one thing. But your saying it's ruined and how you aren't going to see it just because of the damn title lol. That's a bit excessive.
I agree. Ash, if you want your saga to be that good, the title is the less important thing. Would you tell me that if the film comes excellent, a master piece (unlikely, but let´s spose it happens) you´d hate it just because it´s not called just "catching fire"? Besides, you have to understand that from marketing purpose, they had to do that. If I saw "breaking dawn" on a poster, I´d never think of twilight, why? Cause I dont read the books. As simple as that, people need something to relate to, and this is good, specially because the first film was good and had a great reception.
“I woke up this morning and saw all these things about me being cast in The Hunger Games,” Pattinson tells USA TODAY. “I was kind of curious for a second. So I called my agent.”
The response?
“My agent was like, ‘No,’ ” Pattinson reports.
“(My agent) was like no one’s going to offer you that part,” Pattinson says, breaking into a laugh. “I was like, thanks for the reassurance.”
