LMFAO CANT WAIT TO LAUGH AT THEIR FACES.
But... But... Hasn't there been TV spots & everything already released?!?! Seriously?!?!?!
Wow. Just, wow.
And, also, I just checked out 2013 movie list. Is it just me or is summer 2013 look so underwhelming compared to this summer?

BUT TIS IS BULLSHIT!-.- if it was only like push to july or august i will understand! BUT WTF MARCH 2013?!?! THANKS TO FOREIGN PEOPLE WHO FREAKING LIKE 3D!-.-
There's also Iro man 3 and Thor no?
Let's look at Thor and Deathly Hallows Part 2, both of which I saw in 3D. The 3D in Thor was painfully terrible, resulting in a muddy, darkened image and no real sequences that actually stood out to benefit from the 3D. On the other hand, Deathly Hallows Part 2, I felt, had a terrific 3D post-conversion, resulting in my scarfing down enough crow to vanquish the entire species. Nothing about the cinematography or lighting was compromised; in fact, it added some seriously gorgeous depth to many of the shots, particularly on the bridge at the end. I had a difficult time keeping my impression of that one scene bottled up until the credits rolled because it was so amazing.
That being said, like with any additional element to something that already works, 3D can either be a gimmick, or it can actually surprise an audience at making shots feel more like a window than a screen. It depends entirely upon how it is utilized. My point is, there are some people who are against any sort of gimmick whether there's merit to it or not, but for the most part, audiences are not douchebag film elitists who are set in any kind of "old way" of cinema.
This leads to the reason why I quoted this in the first place: people are not upset because the film is delayed. People are upset because its being delayed almost an entire year so that the film can be post-converted into 3D. The anger has nothing to do with the 3D format. People are upset because G.I. Joe is not some James Cameron or Ridley Scott or Michael Bay film that was shot in 3D; it's a mediocre-looking sequel, at best, that people were looking forward to in order to harmlessly waste a couple of hours at the theater. It is not going to benefit from 3D, especially post-converted 3D, even if the job is good. This is literally something that no one asked for. It was not going to be some huge summer blockbuster. It was going to open, make some money, get ripped apart by critics (and probably general audiences) and sell some tickets and be done. No one cared, asked for, nor gave a flying fuck about this movie having 3D, and now people in this category (read: everyone) has to all of a sudden wait until next year to see their shitty sequel instead of in a couple of weeks.
It's like being forced to drink a cow shit milkshake, finally coming to grips with the fact that you're being forced to drink it -- and then those who are making you drink the shitshake randomly take the shitshake away from you at the 11th hour so they can add more shit to it and serve it to you at a much later date. But you know, eventually, you're going to have to drink that shit, and when you do, it's going to be even shittier than it was to begin with.

THR has gotten the inside scoop on why Paramount decided to shift G.I. Joe: Retaliation to next winter and the reason is because the studio wasn't confident that the movie could compete with Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man. Set to be released on July 3rd, webhead would have only given G.I. Joe five days, at most. at the top of the box office, and many anticipate that the success of The Avengers will translate to greater success for all superhero movies, including our friendly neighborhood webslinger. Also helping out box office numbers next year will be the added 3D, which should pad Paramount's international numbers quite nicely.
But the other reason for the move is Mr. Channing Tatum. Watching the trailers for G.I. Joe: Retaliation, it's pretty clear that Tatum, who played Duke in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, bites the big one early in the film. With 21 Jump Street and The Vow performing as well as they did, however, the studio is thinking that killing Tatum off wasn't the best idea in the world. It's expected that in the next nine months Tatum will be brought in for re-shoots so that they can expand his part - which is a clean way of saying that he could be resurrected.
It originally looked like Paramount was going to have a huge 2012. They had release dates lined up for The Avengers, World War Z, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Star Trek 2 and Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, but now none of those movies exist in their plans (though they are still getting a nice payday from Marvel and Disney). This has turned out to be a strange year for the folks over there.
