Well, i don't use the 'team'-thing. I think its for girls between the age of 12-15. I hope the fandom of the hunger games isn't going to use this shit.
I saw a bit from E! News, and there was a interview with Amandla. And they showed a line that was cut where Katniss says "They aren't the only ones who can make an alliance". It's between when she sees Rue and says that she's not going to hurt her, and when they're talking.
When I watched it Saturday the room wasn't even half full... But I'm pretty sure people will keep coming because the word is spreading really fast. It's been all over the news lately.
I'm planning on seeing the movie again tonight, if my mom gets the free tickets we can get every Tuesday for our local theater since were optimum customers. I plan to see if every Tuesday if possible.
The bit with Katniss and Rue making the alliance, when Katniss gets the bread from District 11. Other than that, don't know, maybe more scenes during the ending of the movie, or when Seneca is ordened to kill Katniss and Peeta and he doesn't.
I might have said this before, but Gary Ross mentioned the original interview between Caesar and Seneca being around 1 hour long, so hopefully we'll get some more of that.
Actually, when asked about putting it on the DVD he said "Yea, that might be a good idea. We'll have to see", though to me this sounds like "Eh, most likely not" :P

The first time I read it, I thought it was alright. When I reread it, I couldn't stand the boring beginning and I thought the arena was over the top and a mess. Still, it's nice to follow the games
What's weird about Catching Fire is that it's the shortest book of the saga, like that Collins did it rushed, or maybe she didn't had enough time to develop it better, or maybe the editors made it shorter. No doubt, the movie is going to fix the problems that it has.
Can someone PLEASE find me youtube links of these songs ASAP:

Catching Fire is going to be the hardest book to adapt. First of all, it has a very long beginning which can be well done if handled well, but once they get to the Quarter Quell, it's almost an exact repeat of The Hunger Games. Interviews, training, arena, etc. It also has a few far-fetched ideas about Katniss and Peeta, such as their fake marriage and pregnancy, which could come across as stupid. Also, the love triangle may pose a problem and turn off some viewers. Finally, the arena itself is going to be a huge tone change from the first half of the film because it's set in the tropics, and it's going to look odd since it'll be filled with adults instead of kids. I just can't see an old woman charging through the tropical rainforests. Finally, the end of the book has a huge cliffhanger so they have to do it right in the film, which is going to be super hard. They're going to have to establish a climax because in the novel, the games never really end, they just sort of drop off as Katniss fires the arrow, and then she wakes up and D12 is gone. I definitely think they should show the D12 bombing in this film to establish the war for the final film(s). But it's going to be very hard to adapt, and I can imagine they're going to be criticized for repetition with the first installment. I hope it's received well, and I have tons of faith in Ross and the filmmakers after seeing THG.
I think they could cut some unnecessary things like Katniss getting stuck outside District 12. To do the movie right, they need to make everything pre-games to build up to it, just like in THG. Even though you don't know they're going back to the arena right until half of the book, they should figure something out.

Well I think the important part is going to be including some more District 12 scenes like Gale's whipping, discovering the D13 travelers and sort of setting the tone that rebellion is happening and Katniss is becoming a symbol. I'm looking forward to a meaty conversation between her and Snow at the beginning. Then maybe they should do a ten minute montage of the victory tour to establish that. Either way they should have a lot more freedom with what they're going to be doing in the first hour because the audience doesn't want repeats of THG scenes like the parade and training center. Those scenes should be shorter, enough to establish the new characters but that's it. Then there should be an expansion on the games, and not have them rushed like in the book. That could make way for a bigger climax with the destruction of the arena walls or whatever, and intercut some of that footage with D12 being bombed. I think it could work, just have the first 45 minutes of the film be District 12/Victory Tour/Rebellion stuff, have another 20-30 minutes for the Quell preparation, and another hour for the Games themselves.
@aaron I agree with everything, except for that part about putting footage of District 12 getting bombed. That would ruin the whole power of the ending. Wouldn't it be so amazing if we got the exact same impressive, heart wrenching ending from the book? It'd be miles better. To enhance the climax they should just pump up the action leading to the destruction of the walls, nothing too complex.
And I'm seriously looking forward to the District 11 scene where they shoot the old man. That has to be an amazing scene just like I pictured in the book :P
