I just started a Clockwork Orange and immediately the author calls out his publisher and Kubrick for leaving out the final chapter in the American version of the book and Kubricks film. I've seen the movie and its my favorite of Kubricks (which isnt saying much because I dont love his work) so I'm extra interested to read this.
I'm rereading The Hunger Games. I think I like it a bit more after this second read. I've got Catching Fire ready as well. I'm also rereading HP, and I'm currently on GOF. Lastly, I'm going to be doing a not that fun read with three statistics and probability books I got from my college library.
@muggle I also plan on reading Divergent by Veronica Roth too, I'm just waiting for my Library to call me to tell me I can pick it up. I'm really into dystopias right now lol.
A couple of people here have suggested it and the reviews on Amazon seem to be really good. I'm going to have to buy a copy because my library is small and they don't have it But hopefully I can find a used one for cheaper.
Wow that's too bad. I'm lucky that my library is pretty well stocked. All the libraries in Long Island are connected so they'll mail you a book if one library doesn't currently have it.
I'm gonna finish up my re-read of Half-Blood Prince and then see if I can locate The Gunslinger. 8->
How are you liking Half-Blood Prince? Has your opinion changed?
Ehh, I like it so far but my opinion still hasn't changed: it's one of my least favorite Potter books. I think I just prefer the more light-hearted tone of the earlier books, that sense of discovery and mystery. This book definitely has a deliciously more dark tone and a much more eerie writing style. I'm only on "The House of Gaunt" though.
Hater, by David Moody 3.5/4 Synopsis: Society is rocked by a sudden increase in the number of violent assaults on individuals. Christened 'Haters' by the media, the attackers strike without warning, killing all who cross their path. The assaults are brutal, remorseless and extreme: within seconds, normally rational, self-controlled people become frenzied, vicious killers. There are no apparent links as a hundred random attacks become a thousand, then hundreds of thousands. Everyone, irrespective of gender, age, race or any other difference, has the potential to become a victim - or a Hater. People are afraid to go to work, afraid to leave their homes and, increasingly, afraid that at any moment their friends, even their closest family, could turn on them with ultra violent intent. Waking up each morning, no matter how well defended, everyone must now consider the fact that by the end of the day, they might be dead. Or perhaps worse, become a killer themselves. As the status quo shifts, ATTACK FIRST, ASK QUESTIONS LATER becomes the order of the day... only, the answers might be much different than what you expect.... In the tradition of H. G. Wells and Richard Matheson, Hater is one man’s story of his place in a world gone mad— a world infected with fear, violence, and HATE. Wow. This might be the best "zombie-like" book I have ever read. It feels so real, so natural.. It's impossible to not be impressed. The last pages are so shocking... I couldn't barely hold my breath. I heard that Guillermo del Toro is currently producing the movie. I hope it turns out to be as impressed as the book. Make a favor to yourself and READ it!
Nearly Departed, by Rook Hastings 2/4 Synopsis: Everything has a rational explanation . . . unless it doesn't. The creepy first book in a ghostly new series: Welcome to Weirdsville. "I've seen a ghost," said Emily. "Well, not seen one exactly. Heard one. At least, I think I have . . . " Woodsville is not like other towns. Night falls a little earlier there, the shadows are darker and denser, and everyone knows it's a place where strange things happen., even if they won't admit it. Bethan would prefer to be anywhere but here. Jay has his theories, but isn't ready to share. Hashim sees more than he'll say, while Kelly's demons are all too flesh and blood. But Emily's freak-out brings them out of denial and face to face with the supernatural. Anywhere else, Friday night would be date night. But not in Weirdsville Meh. That was my reaction when I finished Nearly Departed. It has nice characters, a cool storyline.. But the writer's style is terrible and really childish. Also, the twists are more predictable than a cliché horror movie from Hollywood. It's just a regular book. Not memorable at all.
Up to A Feast for Crows now. 4th book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series. I dont have much time to read or listen, which is what I do most of the time, so its been a slow process.
A perfect novel written by one of the biggest, if not the biggest artist of the 20th century. It was so weird, and so interesting. lol. It was a collection of his thoughts on the world. It was very deep for a man who spoke so few words.

Amazing man! I just started reading Clash of Kings, pretty excited!
im reading a Book called MADNESS. its an autobiographical book by Marya Hornbacher and as the title suggests it describes her descent into madness and her ongoing battle with Manic Depression. i see so much of myself in her. since my Suicide attempt in Febuary i had decided to get myself educated on my illness in an attempt to try and better understand my illness in hopes of possibly being able to better keep it in check. Reading this book so far has been very informative but also very scary. As i had no idea that Bipolar actually becomes more severe as time goes on. im actually pretty scared about my future with this disease.
To Kill A Mockingbird. Only on the 47th page, but it seems good.
My favorite book :-) The movie was amazing too. You should watch it if you have time.
I've finished the book and watched the film, and the book is much better. The actress who plays Ewell's daughter is fantastic when she goes ballistic in the courtroom however.
I read Tolstoy's The Death of Ivan Ilyich the other day and am current reading Franz Kafka's "The Metamorphosis."

So Crucify the ego, before it's far too late, to leave behind this place so negative and blind and cynical. And you will come to find that we are all one mind, capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable.
Yeah the first Percy Jackson film could've been done so much better. I even had some faith because it was Chris Columbus. I can't believe they're going on with the Sea of Monsters...
Yeah they are really good. I think the main problem is that a lot of the book's moments just don't really work on screen but I think they could've sacrificed a few elements of the books to make it look good on screen. The Lightning Thief adaptation was working towards the right idea but just butchered the plot completely. Hopefully the new director for the sequel will make it a little more bearable.
Ok I just finished Mockingjay and I'm stuck between two books to get: either Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter or (IMMA NEED UR HELP) a really good action suspense novel told from 1rst person that you think is very good with interesting characters. Hope you can help!
Alright I've finished both Veronica Roth's Divergent and Cassandra Clare's Clockwork prince and I have to say I love both of them, especially Clockwork Prince. After I finished that book I read certain passages over and over again. I just went to the Library yesterday and borrowed both Shannon Hale's Midnight in Austenland and Morgan Meyer's Cinder. So far I'm halfway through Midnight in Austenland and it's an interesting sequel. A lot different from what I expected it to be. I'll let you guys know about Cinder once I start reading it lol.

I'm not really happy with CF. I'm on page 164, and nothing really interesting has happened.
