  The dude did the opposite of Josh, losing weight and darkening his blondish hair to play Gale. He's got that toughness (and killer jaw line) that we imagined Gale would have when we read the book.
  
  As for Josh's interpretation, he buffed up for the role and dyed his brunette locks blonde. Hutcherson's big puppy-dog eyes are parfait for conveying all those deep emotions Peeta feels (which only grow in the later installments of the series!).
