Darth Vader: That is frightening! lol, can you imagine just walking down the street one day, and suddenly that thing is in front of you? ... I have no idea what I'd want to be. There are so many different animals to choose from.
Why not? :-? I mean it's perfectly OK if I am visible to some and not visible to the others. That's not my problem. ) In fact, this would be a great way to become invisible, wouldn't it? Without an invisibility cloak or a disillusionment charm?
Yeah, that's true. But I'm just wondering, because the thestral is a highly magical creature, unlike the cat or dog.... I've never heard of unicorns or thestral animaguses :-?
Talk about being unique lol. B-) Well coming back to seriousness, I don't really know. Lupin was a werewolf. And we know there are no such things as werewolves in real life. Only wolves exist. So Lupin's animagus was a magical creature according to this logic, wasn't it? :-?
But Lupin wasn't a werewolf because he was an animagus. He was a werewolf because he was infected by one. Amirite? what I mean to say is, that I'm not sure if humans can take a form as complex as the thestral. The cat is a simple creature, but the others, like the unicorn, Manticore, etc, are too close to human complexity, I think :-? I don't know the rules of this, I may be wrong.

Seriously though I would be a shark. My last name is Fish and I have a weird affinity with sharks.
"If you make yourself more than just a man... If you devote yourself to an ideal... You become something else entirely- A Legend."
note that, cetaceans are a "subdivision" of mammals. We do call all of these "fish", because they look like them and live underwater, but technically, they're not. As far as I know, sharks don't lay eggs, like regular fish would. They give birth like mammals.
After further research, it seems I was wrong! Although I'm a bit confused, I guess sharks are somewhere in the middle. They have gills, not lungs, therefore are closer to fish than mammals. My mistake. u_u
Of course I know the differences between an animagus and a portkey! It's just that I don't want to turn into an animal or whatsoever. Just think of it, a shoe is cool! You could go anywhere, the person who's wearing you could show you whole new worlds (:
No just kidding, I love to capture animals with my camera and observe them, because most of the times they do surprising things, they just shouldn't come too near me!

If you were a shoe, you'd have someone standing on you the whole time!

If I were a shoe, I could handle that, as people constantly stand on shoes, as they are supposed to.

Slytherin for life!
Megalodon Rex... Meanest mutherfucker in town.
Maybe a wolf or a puma.
According to the internet though, I'd be a hawk or an owl.

No seriously, I don't like dogs. Kitties are way overrated.
