Yeah that's true but in fact PotC's review went down and down with each movie. So I'm not saying everyone thinks like me, but a lot of people feel like the saga is losing it's strenght.
That's because people seem to forget that these are Disney films, and they're expecting too much from them. People expect hardcore piratey shit, but that's not Disney, so for some reason, they're disappointed in fantasy. Personally, I hold all the PotC movies in high esteem, and I can't actually decide which ones I like more than others.

No, I just think that they expect to see the same as in POTC 1. Because they did have some hard pirate things in POTC4 (like the heads in the background while Gibbs is talking to Barbossa).
I feel like since PotC 1 they can't combine good script (or at least understandable and coherant) with awesome CGI. -PotC 1 : Nice script, cool characters, awesome CGI (for that time), some epic battles like Portal Royal or the one on the Dountless... -PotC 2 : Script seemed good even if there were some strange things, but the kraken battles were boring as hell and tons of scenes were unuseful. But I love the part when they're on the Island. -PotC 3 : Was there a story ? Calypso is bullshit, the ending was too long, some background stories weren't well made (Will's betrayal ?), some unuseful scenes (Davy Jones' locker) and for the final battle, we see thousands of ships but only Black Pearl and Flying Dutchman are fighting. -PotC 4 : Storyline was OK but battles were boring, too much humour, bad CGI...
