There is no possible way it can pass...if it does, for the first time in my life I will be giving the protest of my life along with my friends at school with groups in Chicago. If this passes there wont just be protesting...

It surely can't pass but nothing really surprises me anymore. I just got done writing to a friend how much I love America for being a place where I can do a job I want to do, be who I want to be and live the life I want to...and I typed that out, and then stopped. Sat. Thought. Had a very deep think session on if it was true or not. There are things about this country that make me so blissful and it is occurrences such as this and the approval of National Defense Authorization Act...I don't get it. Members of congress also do not have to report how the learn what to invest where. I seen a report on Anderson Cooper's show last night how members of congress cannot be arrested for insider trading. How messed up is that? If it happened to anu ordinary citizen then they would have their ass hauled to jail, OH HAI MARTHA STEWART, but then for people running the country to have this looked past...just wow. This bill, SOPA cannot pass...it is impossible, and as I said before, the American People will not go down without making it known. This bill is just way too much.

You would think that Congress would shelve the bill but apparently they see enough potential in it that are taking the vote today...I am hoping that it does not get passed. I keep telling myself there is no way it can get passed but nobody knows how this is going to go. I wish the news media on television covered this more besides a few singular newscasters. This has been known of for months and the coverage has all been online and barely on television. I don't get it. If this bill becomes reality then most of us will loose connections like we have on HPF. It is more than likely that forums will be shut down. This is America damnit, not China...Politicians, and the media talk all the time about how China is bad blah blah blah and yet they want to actually vote on something to bring forth something that China has? It makes no sense to me. Don't get me wrong I am not bashing China by any means but I do feel for the people there. They should be able to do and say what they want to freely and not worry about their actions on a daily basis.

Yeah I know what you mean. They call our countries free countries yet they are threatening to do something like this and take away our rights. Our world's becoming less and less free everyday.
And I agree about the media coverage. I'd like to hear more about what's happening. It seems odd that such a big thing is hardly getting any press.

I doubt that could work though. The way this works that once a site is in trouble for copyright infringement then the persons, yes I said PERSONS will then be subject to court. Not only the creator but persons involved. Every single one of us on here has copyright infringement on our avatars, our sigs, postings, etc. Which means if they take down the ship they also take down the pirates.

It will never be passed in America.

Like I said Ive been trying to have this thought in my mind, but you never know. If it passes it will spark something a lot larger than some Occupy protests. This wouldn't only change the internet for us, but for the entire world.

Okay, so I found out it's just up for vote in the house committee. This bitch still has a long ass way to ever becoming a law. First it would have to be pass that, pass the house, senate committee and senate, then of course the President. No fucking way Obama would sign that if he knew everybody was against it, seeing he's already to get to the people on his side as much as he can.

Well even if you're not from the US, this website could be shut down as much as youtube could be because they upload a lot of gaming videos.

WB already has the rights to shut down this website, but they won't because they count it as marketing which it is actualy (all the people who post blu ray DvD threads ...)
