Spider-man is a fantastic super hero. Not sure why all the hate. I'm not sure if I like him or Batman more. If it came down to the Batman in TDK, it would DEFINITELY be Spider-man. In fact I don't know how anyone could watch Spider-man 2 and then try to proclaim that he's not incredibly likable and charming.

Spiderman made up a part of my childhood and no other super hero did... I've always liked batman second and even though Nolan made a splash with these movies nobody can deny how big the first spidey film was, considering the issues with the twin towers and all.. Spidey 2 is my favorite comic movie ever... Just sucks with what happened in 3
"If you make yourself more than just a man... If you devote yourself to an ideal... You become something else entirely- A Legend."
Peter was dragged down as far as he could go, had to make the hardest decisions with everything stacked up on him, and comes through. Not to mention the train scene... Spidygasm

That's a bingo. It was incredibly fantastic. Spider-man 2 had what the majority of comic book adaptation lack:
btw, this is how you direct a fight/action sequence. Yes it looks cartoony, but that's due to the fact that:
a) it's partially intentional b) it's all all-around more colorful universe than most superhero comics c) it's meant to be extremely fun and exciting and not ultra gritty or super serious
But the cinematography, the music, the fight coreography, and the very fact that Raimi was actually able to create that fight sequence on top of and around a speeding train is pretty great. It stands as one of the best fight sequences I've ever seen, ESPECIALLY in a comic film.
Oh, and the fight actually lasts a while. When Nolan directs action, you generally get sloppy cinematography and editing, but even worse, it's usually over before it can get good.
I like the spideys. Not my hands down favorite comic book movies but they are alright. I never really got that much into them. I am really looking forward to the reboot though...all these new comments had me assuming a trailer or something came out, Thanks everyone for ruining my hopes -_- hahahaha
Omg thanks for posting that lol I even said "Noo!" when it ended before he stopped the train... When that kid gives him his mask back I'm just like it doesn't get any better than this

It's a true shame that the first two movies got fucked over when they made Spider-man 3. It was so bad that for a few years it made me retroactively hate the first two movies, even though I think they're great, but I understand that many of its problems stemmed from Sony Pictures wanting Raimi to shoehorn in a bunch of elements that he didn't want to which resulted in catastrophe.
For example, Venom wasn't supposed to be in the film, in fact Raimi doesn't even like Venom, so that explains why Venom was so fucking shitty in the movie. Sandman was supposed to be the main villain throughout and in the original draft of the screenplay he got so much more character development. They even shot a lot of those scenes. There was a scene where Sandman met his daughter in secret on a beach, and he builds a sandcastle for her using his powers.
If the studio would have just let Raimi make the film he wanted, I imagine Spider-man 3 could have been just as good as the other two. So I try not to hold it against the filmmakers.
No, but I'm mainly talking about Spider-man, and expressing why Nolan's Batman films haven't been as good as say Spider-man 2. Or any other comic book film for that matter.
I loved the Lizard so I'm extremely excited about TASM. This might seem stupid to y'all but I wish The Chameleon would be a villain or Kingpin to make an appearance in the sequels

One of the world's most popular characters is back on the big screen as a new chapter in the Spider-Man legacy is revealed in "The Amazing Spider-Man." Focusing on an untold story that tells a different side of the Peter Parker story, the new film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, with Martin Sheen and Sally Field. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay written by James Vanderbilt, based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Laura Ziskin, Avi Arad, and Matt Tolmach are producing the film in association with Marvel Entertainment for Columbia Pictures, which will open in theaters everywhere in 3D on July 3, 2012.
"The Amazing Spider-Man" is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.
I'm seeing some special preview of footage next week.
They say that they're going to take all our phones off us so that we can't record. I was planning on recording the audio... (They have night vision goggles so I wasn't going to pull my phone out and record the picture). So now I'm going to go out and look for one of those pens that records... I'll go in and pretend that I'm taking notes.

It's my second favorite superhero.
