Potter got a special AFI award, along with The Artist, because they weren't eligible for some strange reason.
Anyway, the BFCA awards nominees have been announces. Deathly Hallows Part 2 is nominated for Best Art Direction, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound and Best Makeup. Despite having 93 on BFCA, it was completely snubbed in the Best Picture category. Also, no Screenplay/Supporting Actor/Acting Ensemble/Cinematography/Original Score nods.
I don't get why The Tree of Life with a 78 score got in over Potter, The Ides of March, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy...Seriously.
All in all, the Best Picture race is over for Potter.
What the fuck ever I'd like to see any of those other one time fuck ass movies touch millions upon millions of people worldwide and do so for 10 straight years without letting up this is such bullshit Harry potter has always been bigger than any awards... They had to take us off the board for children's book awards because we were winning it every year then we sold 10 ficking million books in one night t midnight 7/21/07 I'd like to see ANYTHING ELSE ever do this again.. Then the movie follows the same route emotionally destroying millions of people and being watched by more people than any movie fuck the academy fuck awards Harry Potter will always be too much for those indie nuthugging academy fuckups

It's disappointing. I can see the Academy giving a Special Achievement Award to Heyman and Barron for the entire series and some tech nominations (and maybe a couple of wins) and that's all. We really need a SAG nomination for Best Ensemble Cast, a Golden Globe nomination for Motion Picture-Drama (and Original Score for Desplat!) and some serious support from the BAFTAs.
We can agree that the nominations the film will receive will be for Art Direction, Visual Effects and Sound Editing. :-P Well, that's better than nothing. Now, Sound Mixing, Original Score, Makeup and Cinematography might very well happen as well, but they are not sure bets. We'll see. I still think that the film is a dark horse for a Best Picture nomination.
Don't forget that the critics awards don't mean anything at all. And I'm dead serious about that. They just build momentum. The important awards are the Globes, the SAGs, the BAFTAs and, of course, the Oscars. If the campaign keeps getting stronger in the next months and we manage to get GG, BAFTA and SAG nods, the Best Picture nomination might happen. It's still a dark horse. Potter needs 5% of #01 votes. Which means around 300-350 #01 votes. Warner Bros is a company that has a lot of connections. Not to mention that there ARE avid fans of the series in the Academy, there have been members that recognized the final film and thought that it should be considered for Best Picture and there are British members that will most likely support the film. It might happen. But we need the help of the precursors.

"So Potter has the highest score of 93. Nomination right there, correct?"
"No no no no, see, that would make sense to give the highest rated movie a film nomination. But here at the BFCA, we like to shove dildos up our assholes and out of our mouths. Then we proceed to rub each other in peanut butter and play twister naked. Finally, we spend the rest of the night playing the waffle game."
"....How the fuck does that have anything to do with not nominating the highest rated movie?'
"Oh, nothing at all. We just fucking hate Harry Potter."

And WTF that even Fast Five is nominated for Best Action Movie and not DH2... seriously, i think some Twilight fan give some money to the critics to shit on the film
The SAG awards nominees are announced tomorrow. Let's hope that Potter will be nominated for Best Ensemble and, why not, Best Supporting Actor. The film really really needs some SAG support right now.
I am so fucking pissed. I also am not surprised at all. Those douchebags need to realize, we won't ever have an AMAZING SERIES LIKE HARRY POTTER EVER AGAIN! These fucking assholes hosting the award shows are sticking there heads up their own asses, they NEED to realize this is the best cinematic series of ALL time! This is just fucking ridiculous, I'm seriously devastated. Just....quit nominating films like Bridesmades and other shit, this is just....god...I am fucking mad as hell right now.
Yes. And especially when they nominate films like Super 8, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Bridesmaids, J.Edgar, Win Win and others over Potter. I mean, seriously?
Today is important. To be honest with you, I don't expect anything. But I hope they surprise us.
Jesus. I'm really surprised to see some Top 10 from the critics. I thought they were going to support and consider Potter. They are even considering Super 8!
They completely snubbed Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, War Horse, Hugo, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Tree of Life, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close and Shame.
This is the most random and laughable set of nominees I've ever seen:
ENSEMBLE The Artist Bridesmaids The Descendants The Help Midnight in Paris
LEAD ACTOR Damian Bechir, A Better Life George Clooney, The Descendants Leonardo DiCaprio, J.Edgar Jean Dujardin, The Artist Brad Pitt, Moneyball
LEAD ACTRESS Glenn Close, Albert Nobbs Viola Davis, The Help Meryl Streep, The Iron Lady Tilda Swinton, We Need to Talk About Kevin Michelle Williams, My Week with Marilyn
SUPPORTING ACTOR Kenneth Branagh, My Week with Marilyn Armie Hammer, J.Edgar Jonah Hill, Moneyball Nick Nolte, Warrior Christopher Plummer, Beginners
SUPPORTING ACTRESS Berenice Bejo, The Artist Jessica Chastain, The Help Melissa McCarthy, Bridesmaids Janet McTeer, Albert Nobbs Octavia Spencer, The Help
Just look at the nominees for the Stunt Ensemble award:
SAG HONORS FOR STUNT ENSEMBLES: Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture THE ADJUSTMENT BUREAU (UNIVERSAL PICTURES) COWBOYS & ALIENS (UNIVERSAL PICTURES) HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS: PART 2 (WARNER BROS. PICTURES) TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON (PARAMOUNT PICTURES) X-MEN: FIRST CLASS (20TH CENTURY FOX)
At least DH2 is the first SAG-nominated film of the series. :-P
I'm surprised that Hugo, Fast Five, Rise of the Planet of the Apes and the critics darling Drive didn't make it in the Stunt Ensemble lineup. I guess we should be grateful, haha. :-P

If I were you guys, I wouldn't expect any nominations. At least, we don't get frustrated about it.

I got hopeful after the stunt. I thought they were going to remember it. Jesus.
