Click on "Score" and listen to the tracks. Well yep, it's Desplat's usual breathtakingly beautiful piano and atmospheric charm, so I'm expecting a nomination for this rather than DH2 if he gets a Score nomination at all. :|

Not. Happy. Lmfao.

Desplat wrote 80 minutes of music for The film in just three weeks, só I don't think that The full score is there.

Still, he has other five big scores to be nominated for. Besides DH2

Yes, this is going to be nominated for Best Original Score.

Potter isn't going to happen. This is typical Desplat. Whimsical, emotional, piano-oriented cues. Exactly what the Academy likes.

OK I've just finished the score. The main theme is truly beautiful (the 'Opening' theme) and plays in other tracks as well, but the rest of it is just good atmospheric music. Nothing extraordinary or very emotional (say hello to The Rusurrection Stone, Lily's Theme, The Prince's Tale, Godric's Hollow Graveyard, Obliviate etc.). Just good music by Desplat. If this is nominated over Potter, I'll be severely disappointed, but I kind of expect this to happen, unfortunately. We'll see though.

The Houston Film Critics nominees have been announced and Desplat's score for Deathly Hallows Part 2 is nominated. :) The film didn't make it in their top 9 (random Win Win did, while The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Potter, Hugo, The Ides of March, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Moneyball were not even included), but the score nomination is positive, since they nominated this over Desplat's score for Extremely Long and Incredibly Boring. :D

As a long The Academy don't decide to rob Desplat again, giving The award to Reznor, I'll be happy
