Which barely makes sense. Is that directed at the filmmakers? Telling them to go home if they don't win the big one?
Lord Stafford.
Actually, it does make sense if you ever get stop being such an ass thinking you're right about everything.
There's a saying: go big or home go home. If you aren't ready to pound it out and go to the extreme, don't bother. And that's what WB is doing. They are going big, all these posters, books, commercials, etc. They are going for it, as they should. So, instead of saying go big or go home, I say best picture or go home. WB is doing it, whatever your opinion is on the posters, they are doing their best to get that BP win.
There, maybe now you can stop being so fucking anal about everything. You wanted to be technical, so I gave you the answer. So please, don't go out of your fucking way to say something doesn't make sense.
Here we go, again. The first post and poster of the day that/who is jumping to conclusions with me. =D>
This is what they need to focus on to show the Academy that we deserve the awards:
BEST VFX - Hogwarts shield disintegration, Courtyard Apocalypse, the Gringotts break-in and dragon escape, King's Cross, Fiendfyre, Nagini
BEST SOUND MIXING - Battle of Hogwarts scenes
BEST SOUND EDITING - final duel, Grey Lady sequence
BEST ART DIRECTION - Hogwarts, the battlements, Gringotts, Shell Cottage
BEST MUSIC (SCORE) - The Prince's Tale sequence, opening, the final duel
BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY - Voldemort's Speech, Procession, opening
BEST COSTUME DESIGN - The Death Eaters, Voldemort
BEST MAKEUP - Voldemort, Goblins of Gringotts
--
There's also a slim chance for 3 others: Adapted Screenplay, Film Editing, and Best Supporting Actor - Rickman, but I doubt any of these will get a nomination.

Except you do this all time -.-
And if you would have thought about, it does make sense.

I would add Hogwarts itself, since that was CGI this time.
That's true. I don't think there's a shot in the film that doesn't use some VFX, and that on the whole is a revolutionary achievement.
Don't forget the first battle. Those knights were badass! And the giants, damn they looked legit. Put that side by side with grawp and it's like you're comparing a movie with a budget of 50k to a movie with a budget of 250 million.
I think the film deserves a Best Makeup nomination just the work on Voldemort and the goblins
Well, for Voldemort, wouldn't he have received a nomination for the others in which he appeared?
Lord Stafford.
This time I think the makeup on Voldemort was different because they did a wonderful job in showing his deterioration as each horcrux was being destroyed. The combination of vfx and makeup for Voldemort's death was amazing
We really need a Golden Globe nomination for Best Motion Picture-Drama and a SAG nomination for Best Ensemble Cast, in order to secure a Best Picture nomination at the Oscars. Otherwise, it will be really difficult to make it. The BAFTAs and BFCA awards will logically support the film, but we need more precursors to make it.
Seriously, is this film supposed to have Oscar buzz? It looks absolutely atrocious and saccharine.
By the way, I just finished DH2 on my 3D TV. The 3D Blu-Ray disc is absolutely jaw-dropping. I've never noticed so much detail and the 3D made it an even more intense experience. For instance, the Chamber of Secrets and Fiendfyre shots that didn't feel very real to us look absolutely great in 3D, because when we see the Trio on broomsticks they sort of 'get out' of the picture and come towards the living room, if you know what I mean. :P And the cinematography is just amazing.
And I have to say that the film's mediocre BFCA score is a good sign. I think WB know they have a flop in their hands and that's why the film didn't premiere on time, there are no arranged screenings and the campaign is non-existant. They thought that J.Edgar would do better and promoted a bit, but it was a critical flop. So I guess that's why they're giving it all to Potter.
On a sidenote, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has gotten some very early short reviews and notices and they say it's good, but not Oscar-material at all. Too dark, too raw and its Best Picture chances are extremely slim.

Already has a better father son connection than Hugo from that trailer
Not the website for grades, I mean the site for users.
I had an old account and it was great! There were all these cool features and stuff, you could write reviews, see how you compared to critics, see how you compared to friends, etcetc.
ALL of that is gone. The messaging system doesn't work. It's a mess and completely shit.

5/10 is a failing grade. Listen to the score on youtube, and maybe that will make it a 6/10. Or at least a 5.5.
I can't give it decimals on RT, just whole numbers.
Most of that 5 comes from the technical aspects, lolll. The score, the visuals, the cinematography, etcetc. The score can only bump my grade up so much XD

Scores mean nothing because everyone perceive them differently. 5/10, 5.5/10 and 6/10 are all basically the same deal: Mediocrity.
There are some scores that you can't deny that are "good". Like Hedwig's theme. I have not met one HP fan that doesn't like it. It has become a symbol for HP. Sure, there are variances on how well someone likes it, but on average, it will be ranked the same among people.
Haha, you misunderstand Scores as in ratings. Naturally are movie scores valuable.
IT SAYS GOLDEN GLOBE. And that stamp from the National Board of Review stands out sooooo well! Not so much likin' the Photoshop on Snape and the walls around him but still great that they've invested $100 mil to promote the shit out of this movie. It deserves it, and what we've gotten so far has been phenomenal.

Let's just respect each others opinions. Please
We don't need this.
Please.
The 5 quote rule was utterly smashed. I'm so unhappy with you guys..
I like the posters, they're pretty
U$100. I think they are definitily focusing their campaign on Potter. There's no doubt of that anymore.
Especially because they are already rating Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close in BFCA and it has 75/100 with only three critics already.

Problem is that Hugo looked like a masterpiece at first. Maybe this what seems to be shitter will be good? Who knows
Father dies. Looks/finds a key. Looks for an answer. Rest of film is to suck on critics dicks. -.-
