Did anyone else feel physical pain when watching the daytime battle rehearsals? Knowing how awesome it could have been
Everything you saw in this "behind the scenes" happened in the movie. It just was in the background. Even if I agree with you that a few focus shots on Deatheaters just throwing spells and on Hogwats students would have been good.
Guys, this courtyard battle was the alternate version of what we got. It was the scene where Lucius was supposed to battle etc. So they preferred the version we saw in the final cut of the film. And maybe the execution of this battle sequence wasn't good, who knows. It would be nice to see more fighting, but I'm not disappointed because what we got worked well.
No, we never got to see the students and teachers fight back, that was cut. We only see the Death Eaters charge for 3 seconds and that's it.
I'm sure they only shot one or two scenes about this fighting. When they charge that seems like what they practised. When the students fight, it seems like the continuation of the shot where Voldemort looks at Harry running away.

Lucius was supposed to fight? Didn't look like it. They just had all the main actors involved in the scene rehearse their lines.

I think there was one where Lucius fights, another where all the Malfoys take part in the fight (and Draco throws the wand to Harry etc.) and stay in the Great Hall afterwards and another where Lucius gets injured and Narcissa and Draco still leave the castle or something like that, I don't remember very well. I definitely prefer the version they kept in the film, though.
One thing I noticed when watching the movie. In the Battlefield and the Molly vs. Bellatrix scenes, why are the students fighting EACHOTHER. Are they fighting the Slytherins or something?
The endings may have been like that. Malfoy throwing wand to Harry then they run off, Lucius getting trampled by fellow death eaters but finally get's up and then they run away, Lucius fighting but retreats with his family etc
It seemed like there was too much rubble in the movie. The staircases didn't look like they were extremely damaged (in the scene where Harry says goodbye) but it was entirely covered in rubble.

The strangest thing I found was that the staircases have almost no end while they are supposed to be in the Gryffindor Tower.
These are as sexy as Cate Blanchett, but too expensive.

So Crucify the ego, before it's far too late, to leave behind this place so negative and blind and cynical. And you will come to find that we are all one mind, capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable.
Forget the lack of battling in the second part of the battle, why the HELL did they cut that epic speech of Voldemort's? All that about being as meek as a child and stuff. That was great, and it would have been great to see Voldemort truly lavish in his victory like he did in the book.

There was some extended stuff like "Stupid girl! You cry for that? While you battled courageously until you could no longer will yourself to stand, he had long since fallen to his knees. While you cursed me till your voices grew ragged, he begged for mercy in a voice as meek as a child's. So do not cry for that!"

And Ron yelling "Liar!" to Voldemort.
I'm glad that they cut most of that Voldemort dialogue, the way Ralph read it was very over-dramatic Shakespearian, it would have made an already unintentionally-humorous scene even more comedic.
Whoa there, those Hagrid and Dumbledore ones are new! Where are these from?

The 'Harry Left Hogwarts' documentary is sad. It's sad even when you watch BTS stuff of the battle scenes. I don't know why. It's very melancholic and depressing.
After watching When Harry Left Hogwarts, I'm glad they re-shot the epilogue. The make up of the original version was horrible; the trio looked too old, especially Ron.
Wonder if she actually had some lines or if she was going to be background only.
She probably had a line or two, but I doubt she was a major part of the movie. Still, it would have been nice to finally see her.
In HP1 when Harry arrives at King' Cross, you can see near the train Neville and an old lady. His grandmother certainly.
What I find extraordinary is how the courtyard explosing scene was made. The first big explosion seems so close to the actors during the shooting and, even if they really exploded it, there must have been so much work done in CGI after that. The background, some explosions seem to have disappeared (there were less explosions in the movie, am I wrong ?), they added Maggie Smith afterwards... An even greater scene after watching the making of.

"He's not worthy of your tears. Do not despair of his betrayal. You, none of you, were ever in his heart! Not for one single, solitary beat."
