I think, if anything, critics will be happy by Part 2 because Twilight is finally over. That's what one of the critics said about Deathly Hallows Part 2 but it was still counted as positive lololol.
I feel so, so sorry for Bill Condon right now, as I'm a fan of his work. Thankfully, one of the early reviews said that the film feels very stylistically anonymous, mixing elements of Hardwicke with Chris Weitz into a rather empty pot, but his involvement with this series will be an inescapable fact when it comes to studying his filmography. It's not something to be overlooked.
twilight would never be a big fandom if it wouldnt have a good story
I have read the books and I used to be a Twilight fan but I was able to see the light and come back to reality. It's not a terrible story but it isn't as good as some make it out to be.
You know that moment in the second film where Aro sees what's supposed to be a future vision of Bella and Edward merrily skipping, inexplicably looking like they have emerged rom another century? When you read the final sentences of Breaking Dawn, those sugary, cowardly words committed to page, you might as well imagine them recycling that particular bit of imagery and adding in CG unicorns, orgasming in green pastures, as Edward and Bella enjoy their blissful little slice of forever. That's how they should end Part 2, for my money's worth.
It's insulting. And the movie will probably remain true to it.
STOP COMPARING TWILIGHT WITH HP! lol they have NOTHING TO DO! One is about courage, friendship, making the right decisions and growing up, and the other one is about a guy who takes his shirt off every 5 minutes and an emo chick who doesn't know what to do with her life, instead falls for a sparkly vampire!
Yes. I have read the books and seen the films, and understand all the lore, though I think your comment was more directed towards Dobby. :P Yes, it does make sense and all that, I was just saying it is more of the deeper undertones of the story that anger me rather than the surface cracks. )
So I took the bus home today, and my friend who I sit with whenever I take it had a friend sitting in front of us, and she was talking about Twilight. Eventually, it got to Harry Potter vs Twilight. I didn't have a half hour to explain why it was better, so I just shrugged it off.

LOL!!!
i'm not into the "us" vs. "them" stuff when it comes to these films, because i haven't seen a dime deposited in my bank account from WB. But I do find it funny that people spend money on the TW films. But, it's my own lame amusement... I know there are folks who love them.
This makes me wish boxofficemojo still had their forums up and running because there was this thread in which movie goers reported on the audiences' reaction to the trailers shown.
Alcohol and calculus don't mix. Never drink and derive.
Dobby, no offense, but get your facts straight before you make an argument or bash a series. They explain why Jacob takes his shirt off. Why wear a shirt when it's going to ripped to shreds when you phase? Bella isn't emo at all and it's not her fault she doesn't know what to do with her life. Edward left her and left a huge hole in heart. Jacob filled that hole. A mark was obviously going to form. And about the sparkly vampire thing, I don't really care that they sparkle.
Well I do care if they sparkle...ABOMINATION!!!! *loads shotgun*
Stephenie Meyer is such a whore... I just read that she donates 10% of the money she got from the movies to a Church to ban and stop gay mariage... WTF? We (normal people) don't care about that... I mean love is love duhhh
This is all gold. I'm glad they finally see the justification. All it takes is one bad example. The Hobbit will be well-received in two parts as well, because the Lord of the Rings was almost pretty much a three-part huge film. Hell, even Mockingjay can make it into two parts. But as most of the reviews said, the first half of the Breaking Dawn story can be covered in 40 minutes. The whole story arc can be covered in two hours.

"If you make yourself more than just a man... If you devote yourself to an ideal... You become something else entirely- A Legend."
"Back again is Bella's best friend Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), who you recall is now a shape-shifter who turns into a wolf. Enraged by Bella's pregnancy, he summons his pack. The wolves, it must be said, are underwhelming as a pack. They become huge ferocious beasts with sharp fangs, and hurtle at top speed through the forest, and… well, that's about it. They're always hurtling somewhere. Hurtle, hurtle."

What becomes clear is that while the bisecting of J.K. Rowling's hefty tome was artistically defensible, here, there's no such creative imperative."

He gave it 2.5/4.
