Damn guys. I hate this argument: "I'm leaving because I have to move on". Haven't you all thought that we can all move on together? And being over here it's not only about Potter?
And before judging the others, everyone over here studies, works, goes to college, has family and kids, and stuff. Make sure you know about people over here before judging the others. Just saying.
And this is pretty real to me.
1. a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard.
2. a person who gives assistance; patron; supporter.
3. a person who is on good terms with another; a person who is not hostile.
4. a member of the same nation, party, etc.

I'm sorry, but you can't say that the people I've made friends with on this forum aren't real friends. That's just dumb. They are my real friends. Come up with any definition, they'll fit it. So what if I haven't met them off the internet? I've seen their faces, we've talked personal issues, we've known each other for months on end, talked for ages--I've known most of them even longer than friends I've made here at college. I trust them. I am even thinking about, when I get older, arranging a time and place to meet with them.
Don't say that we are lacking in real life. We're all social here. Who is to say that we can't come on here because we are united by one thing? Harry Potter. That's how we met, so stop telling me to enjoy real life and make real friends because HPF is part of my life and these people are my real friends.
This is real for me. I talk with my friends over here everyday. We cam, we mic, we share experiences, stories... They know me really well and despite everyone being far away from each other.. I guarantee you I have feelings for everybody. If I hadn't, I wouldn't spent so much time over here.
They know more about me than my family and my best friends over here.
And Nick, that's a horrible thing to say about people who really like you, consider you a friend and have been quite supportive of you. If that's the way you really feel that's fine, but perhaps you should keep it to yourself. You don't have to openly try and tell others that they have no life and the friendships they've made aren't real. It all sounds very mean and intentionally hurtful. :-/

Nick, you don't have to see people to form relationships with them. You don't have to meet people face to face to be able to get to know someone and have that someone be there to cheer you on or help you through your tough times. I have no idea why you are coming to this conclusion about people here at HPF considering you were checking in while you were working on your personal obstacles. Most of us on this forum talked to you and tried to help you through your tough times and I can't believe that you are saying that we weren't genuine because we've never meet face to face.
It makes me wonder, why are you still coming to HPF if you feel this way?
