1.The Dark Knight 2.Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2
le sigh, I hate making new enemies.

Loll, it's just that I (and Darth I presume) think TDK is rather overrated and die a little on the inside when someone has it as their favorite movie of all time

Well it's his choice - Why do people feel the need to write stupid comments like "hate making new enemies" when someone merely states their favourite film is a particular film, at least write some constructive critiscism?

hate making new enemies was definitely needed then. Obviously.
Now that I reconsider it they could be tied because they are both awesome and have my two favorite scenes in movie history. The Princes Tale and the interrogation scene .

I did on the last page as BloodHallow said. And I'm not attacking him or saying anything against him, simply that I don't think TDK deserves the top spot. I'm not saying he's wrong or dumb or anything insulting, just that I feel it shouldn't be at the top. If I ever am doing that, then I apologize, because that's the last thing I want.

This. I would hear out your argument against the fact that it is the "best" movie of all-time, but favorite? That's purely opinion.

Some people on HPF are fucking horrible at taking jokes. Hot damn son!

Dull?? DULL?? Okay. You can call Lost in Translation boring, arrogant, presumptuous, anything but dull.
LOL, what an idiot...you do realize boring and dull are synonyms, right? And I think the word you were looking for is pretentious not presumptuous, lol
First. I did not offend you. Second. English is not my first language. You should know that many people from this forum is not american or british and don't have english as first language. So, don't offend who you don't know.

BTW, if anyone is concerned with the omission of Potter films and wondering where they stand on my list...not too far behind, a few round out my Top 20
As a film buff I'm a bit ashamed to say I haven't seen these yet. One of these days...when in the mood for watching a looong and/or emotionally draining film.
Go rent Schindler's List, like, right fucking now, loll.
I only put Dark Knight number 1 instead of 2 because it introduced me to the glory which is action flims. (Ohh yeah) I rember watching it the first time in school and slowly falling out of the conversation between my friends just to concentrate on Joker (Ledger is amazing).
If we went by Movies that most shaped us then Harry Potter would definitively be number 1. (Not trying to be defense it just that I have way too much time today and wished to elaborate)

Oh by all means, do elaborate, loll, the forum would be nowhere without it! This is my exact post from earlier in the thread:
I don't mean to attack you or anyone that loves TDK, but saying it's perfect bothers me a bit when many other films deserve that 'perfect' title more (although, I still think no film is perfect).
First off, I'll start with Heath Ledger. He did great in his performance; I'm not denying that. Yet, Oscar buzz before the film even came out? I want to look back and try to imagine had he not died, had the crazy amount of buzz created by his death not been there, had it received regular marketing like any other film, and whenever I try to think 'what if' I simply get the fact that Heath's performance is treated god-like. Ask yourself this: could anyone else have played the Joker? The answer is yes. Think of other iconic roles. Could anyone else play Han? Could anyone else play Rocky? Could anyone else The Terminator? My answer to that: no. Heath was great, don't get me wrong, but it's way way way overhyped.
Batman Begins had a much more interesting story. We see Bruce Wayne; his thoughts, his feelings, his becoming of the Batman. Gotham is a much more realistic place with corruption and crime. Gotham in TDK is a super-hero Chicago in which one villain has all this plans work PERFECTLY! Every goddamn plan, and yes the joker is a schemer, every plan just works. Flawlessly. It's quite unrealistic. In TDK, we learn nothing new of Bruce. He's simply put; just there. The Joker seems to have as much screen time, and that bothers me quite a bit. Look at how much Bruce grew in BB and how much in TDK. Huge difference. You might argue 'oh it's the second film, not an origin.' It's a good argument, but let me point you to Spider-man. One reason why people like Spidey 2 over Spidey 1 is the emotional struggle Peter has with himself; not with a villain.
Nolan's action scenes in BB and TDK are very close up and it's hard to follow. When Batman has the sonar vision (or whatever), the editing is all over the place.
And now, the infamous boat scene. TDK worked so hard on building a gritty city of fear and corruption that the boat scene really lost for me. Almost as unrealistic as the Spiderman 2 train scene where he loses his mask, but at least in Spidey 2, we can use the excuse of 'everyone loves him and wouldn't do a thing to bring him down.'
What I want from Returns is more Batman! It's as simple as that: focus on your character. We got little to nothing of Bruce Wayne, which is extremely disappointing.
Hopefully after reading this, you'll see it's not a perfect film. Put in your top 5 if you will, but I personally think BB is much better.

Curious no one noticed that the first time I posted it
Also, Stand By Me. Amazing, emotional film which beautifully captures the essence of childhood:
