I like how 99% of people didn't understand the ending whatsoever, or the fact that the finale completely explained what the island was.
Ths island never really mattered in the end. It was about these people and their bond. Not dharma or the others or polar bears XD and i loved the ending. vincent the dog, matthew fox and michael giacchino made me cry like a motherfucker
Finale completely explained that the island = source of energy that governs life in general.
It can:
-create life -take life -bring together lost souls and wandering spirits
The last point is what I think it primarily does, or at least it is largely alluded to.
"If the light goes out, it goes out everywhere." The people that actually die on the island are caught up in some type of limbo, which is what the whispers that you hear all throughout the series are. The island, or the energy rather, does have a mind of its own: when the Oceanic 815 survivors ended up "unplugging" the island and setting it back on course, it made the Man in Black mortal again and brought balance back to the island (the writers are known Star Wars fans). Thus, as kind of a "thank you," the island, after everyone that crashed on the plane either died on the island or died later on in life for the ones who got off the island, and Jack was finally able to find his constant-- his father's casket-- the island brought them together in the afterlife so that they could be together again before moving on. Unfinished business.
The show was a stroke of fucking genius and it's not the writers' faults that some people are too ignorant to piece everything together.
It was brilliant how in season 4 how everything concerning Desmond, his exposure to the electromagnetism, the constants-- all of this was a genius prelude to set up what was going on in the "flash sideways" in the final season. Everyone thinks that they all died on the plane crash but the flash sideways was occurring in the future, in the afterlife, after everyone had passed away, and everyone, not just Desmond had to find their constants before they could realize what was going on.
The flash sideways could have taken place 50 years, 100 years, even thousands upon thousands of years after the present-time events in the show. It is not explained, nor did it need to be.
BTW last nigt i watched season 6 ep 14 - The candidate
aka submarine go boom boom
Man that was one of the most intense hours of tv ive watched but i knew people would die..just not 3 main characters. and the scene on the beach after...fucking heartbreaking. It really fuels Jacks mission from that point on
That episode was incredibly cruel and shocking. Just wow. The scene of Jack on the beach at night staring off into the ocean as he mourned was fucking amazing. Fuck them for giving the best TV actor award to Jon Hamm last year, fuck them so hard, there was not a better TV character last year or a stronger TV performance last year than what Matthew Fox did on Lost.
Matthew Fox, Terry O Quin, Michael Emerson, Josh Holloway, Jorge Garcia, Henry Ian Cusack, Daniel Dae Kim Yujin Kim, Evangiline Lily , Elizabeth Mitchell and so many more...i love the cast. they were truly one of a kind.
They did die. They just did not die when the plane crashed. They all died in their own time. And we know how some of them died. Like Jack was shot. Charlie drowned. Juliet died in the fall. But some we do not know how they died like Kate, Sawyer, and Claire who got off the island at the end. They went back to the real world and lived their lives raised Aaron and died long after the others died on the island.
The thing is when you die you go outside of time where there is not "here now". The others did not wait around for everyone else to die because when you die you are out of time where there is no waiting. The concept of being outside of time is confusing, but that i think is what the show was suggesting.

didnt u hear about the spinoff focusing on miles, lapidus and richard living in a house together? co starring walt?
My oh my, it'd be impossible for me to list the shows I watch. As someone who spent countless nights awake due to suffering insomnia throughout University, I kinda because addicted to a lot of shows.
Just a few though:
Misfits Inbetweeners Being Human (Only the UK one though, the new American take on it is AWFUL) Supernatural Glee Falling Skies Law and Order SVU Nip/Tuck (sucks that it's finished now though!) The Big Bang Theory Game Of Thrones
I really like to watch a lot of short series too like The Borgias, which was incredible, and The Kennedys. And I love Futurama. I still watch it all the time...
Oh The Borgias is already over? I watched like 3/4 through it on HBO but then I gave it up... it was really good thoguh. And everyone was beautiful! >_>
Right now I started watching that old show on MTV, Daria. I never got to watch it when it was on. I love it!
Lol I love the fact they advertise the show as this upbeat, feel good comedy musical show, and then when you actually watch it it's grim and depressing.

It's considered a dramedy (comedy/drama) because of some of the content they cover (like bullying) but they advertise the upbeat-ness because the show isn't all depressing and dramatic. With the way they write Sue and the rest of the cast most of it comes off as funny and light-hearted.
Lmao Marie, it just is. It's all doom and gloom. Every now and again there's an upbeat episode, but mostly it's all dramarama, well the second season was anyway I thought. Oh, I'm a fan of the show by the way lol, I'll be watching Season 3.
Yeah, I guess. Well I'm not saying I don't like the drama side, I really like the more emotional moments and I'm not afraid to admit they've brought a tear to my eye a couple of times. I just think in season 2 the balance between comedy and drama was more titled in the drama direction olo.
It was directed more toward the drama side, Cadmus. But they did introduce quite a bit last season, like kurt transferring and meeting Blaine and the Warblers, Santana being a lesbian, Kurts dad getting sick. Mr. Shu's broadway dreams, Couch Beiste, Emma dealing with her OCD, Kurt coming back, people voting Kurt as home-coming queen (I think you get what I'm saying lol).
Yeah very true, well like I said I'm not complaining, I just thought it was going to be more happy judging by the promos (lol). By the way I love Coach Beiste, I hope she's in Season 3, does anyone know?
Yay. Well I don't mind Kurt but I think season 2 focused a bit too much on him, it almost became The Kurt Show imo
yeah it was a bit too much focusing on him and kinda imbalanced the story, but I didn't really mind. btw I LOVED him and Rachel singing on the Broadway stage...! It was awesome.
I LOVE Kurt. He's probably my favourite character. He's just lovely!
Edit: I wonder how they're going to take Sam out... maybe he moves away or something
I love Kurt too! I also love Blaine I'm thinking Sam will have had to leave (probably something to do with this Dad finding work out of town or something since they were having money issues in season 2)
Comments
No. It needs YOU.
Dad? I don't understand. You died.
Yeah. Yes, I did.
Then how are you here right now?
*sigh* How are YOU here?
Biggest plot twist in television history. All hail lord Lindelof and Lord Cuse. And Lord Abrams.

@Cadmus how is Glee grim and depressing? XD
i hear alot of the stupid drama will be dropped and the show will have alot more funny and laid back storylines as well as a made for tv movie!
and i LOVED the glee project, it was a fun contest and im glad my boy damian won!
That promo was really sweet! And Jayma Mays looks hawwwwwt!
I can't wait for Season 3 - I whack out my glee boxset everytime I'm down in the dumps.. Its not depressing at all
It's supposed to be reverting back to Season 1 style storylines for S3
i was a fan of him from years back when my very much irish family listened to celtic thunder!
btw i hated alex
however it did lose a little of the magic that made it so different
Season 3 however has me very excited and ive heard some great things about
im a little mad Chord Overstreet aka Sam wont be returning.
Edit: I wonder how they're going to take Sam out... maybe he moves away or something
they were so ignored i nseason 2
