What's the reason you like the books and movies?

The books: The way they are written is fantastic. They have such a good atmosphere. And of course the great characters.

The movies: The atmosphere is always amazing. Hogwarts feels so real in the movies. Especially in POA and GOF. Also the soundtracks are so great.

  • The books: Escapism. It's like a getaway. Reading them, I imagine a fantastic world. I forget my problems and bad things. These books defined my education too: what I know about friendships, love, peace...

The movies: It's amazing seeing the world you've imagined on screen. Specially when it's really well-made. :)

Books: there's so many reasons; but mainly, it feels so warm. Idk how to explain it, but it gives me a fuzzy warm feeling sth like... home?
Movies: well it's the books come to life, and the characters feel like the movie

Books: They just feel right - feels like home because it's where I first discovered everything in the HP world. Love to curl up with the books and be inside my own head. Movies can't beat that.

Movies: Visually amazing. Some things you could never vividly imagine - and the attention to detail is extraordinary. The beautiful music that plays along with different moments of the story is just fantastic and really adds to the emotion.

I love them both for the same reasons.

The central theme is love. Specifically the power of love and courage. I am a sucker for good vs. evil when love is really touched on as being key in that battle.

Specifically, the books I enjoy because I can escape, much like what Henrick said. It is easy for me to forget about the troubles of the world when I am reading. I enjoy all books that allow me to do this.

The movies I love mostly because I love the art of film making. Seeing the story I love so much played out in front of me is a wonderful gift that we are given and it will never get old.

I love the books and movies for most of the same reasons as you @chester but I have to add....

I love being able to pick up a book that will take me into a different world, something that will make me forget about my worries (at least while I'm reading it). And Harry Potter does just that. I also love books that get my kids to read more :)

I love the movies because they allow the world I am reading about to come to life. They bring a face to the characters you become attached to in the book.
