Just wondering, but there are three ways to pronounce it:

Ah-see-oh
Ah-kee-oh
Ak-see-oh

Which way do you pronounce it? I use the second way, the one used in the film. :P

The word looks Italian.

There's piccolo and Petrocelli, the TV show. the TV show was pronounced Pet-ro-chel-ee. Some people said that was wrong.

The funny thing is, I always used to say Ah-see-oh until I saw the film. It converted me.

It makes me sad that I don't remember how I thought things were pronounced because I was too young. I was 6 when the first film came out so I never got to fully experience and enjoy Harry Potter from the beginning

Ah-chee-oh is how I pronounced it when i first read the books. The word is very different from the german language.
I think my brain just compared the word to other words i may have heard in the past that looked similar, like accelerando.
Nowadays i say Ah-kee-oh , though.

Same here -- but I based it on my pronunciation of similar Latin-based terms.
