My Theory [ this theory is not official , it may be wrong or RIGHT ] :
Many people think that Pottermore letters are very late , but that´s not the case actually , + Why ? + Because ...
Look guys , Pottermore team are working with a plan nd it is '' Step by step '' , they don´t want to do everything at the same time , Step 1 was to make the site , Step 2 was to announce it , Step 3 was to make the beta invites nd this step is not done yet .
+ How ? + Because the 7 day´ers are not done yet , you know why ? .. it is easy , some emails may take 48 hours to arrive , which means they can´t just leave 7 Day´ers without complete accounts . Not only that , but they have extra 48 hours to click the link which means , it may take 96 hours , before 7 day´ers are done ..
It may not be the case , but Pottermore team must leave the chance to everyone , not only the fast ones ,
They want to complete everything before they release the beta version nd Thanks ,
Nah it doesn't work that way though. What happened with the Magical Quill challenge was that people would compete, they would win a chance to register and then would have to click the link. They are supposed to click the link ASAP. It will run out after 48 hours, but that doesn't guarantee you entry even if you click it within the 48 hour limit. Okay, say there are 140,000 places available that day. Not only 140,000 people complete the challenge. It's the first 140,000 people to click the link in their email, not to complete the challenge. So ALL day 7'ers are in, because the places have run out. Other people may have links in their inboxes but it's too late. I know this because my sister was a day 7'er, she waited forever for her email to arrive, when it finally did. she clicked the link straight away and it said all the places were full but the site would be open to all in October.
Don´t be so angry now because the emails are late .. There is a big problem in UK , so emails may not arrive this week or even next week , just be patient

I'm pretty sure that it's nothing to do with pottermore, according to the news it's just a warehouse. It is still terrible however.
Whether it affects them or not depends on where they are. Is the pottermore office even in London? I haven't looked. The riots have only affected certain parts, my mum still went into work today and I'm pretty sure the area where her office is is fine.
I just looked it up, I think the pottermore offices are in Edinburgh so there's no trouble there.
Edit: Wait, no, wrong address. The pottermore offices are in London, I found the address. I'll check where it is now.
Ok, the offices are in Devonshire Street (I believe), which is pretty much next to Regent's Park. The nearest rioting was Oxford Circus, which is in walking distance but quite a way away. So I doubt it was affected too much by it, apart from maybe that people could have had trouble getting to work if they were coming from the wrong direction.
We can confirm our DADC Distribution Center in Enfield, UK has been damaged by fire. No injuries to employees; the damage is being assessed.

I live in Enfield and could see that fire outside my window. Scary and all, but it has nothing to do with pottermore. . I don't think the riots are preventing the pottermore emails to be sent in anyway.
Pottermore don´t need to be in London to be effected .. This thing will effect the whole UK government , nd many people in UK are scared right now while u are waiting for ur emails ,
I grew up with Harry Potter , nd I am still a huge fan of it , But it is a bit ego to think about Pottermore letters right now
I don't think what's happening here is going to make much difference, obviously unless their actual building is targeted. People are still going about their daily business, it's just in the evenings things get bad, and life is going on as usual in the UK except for the few streets that have been targeted.
That isn't very nice.. her family or friends could be effected by this major riot or the Pottermore staff's. It is quite understandable to me anyways that they aren't sending the e-mails right away because of what happened in London. Maybe they are updating the Beta site, so we just have to be patient. I just really hope all of them are safe though.. and I am sure they have families as well they need to tend to as well but I do think it would be nice if they updated the pottermore blog to let us know what's going on but they aren't obligated to. Patience will pay off as good things come to those who wait and it may be that everyone has to wait a few weeks for their e-mail to arrive.
I think JK's immediate family (husband, children) will be ok - doesn't che live in Edinburgh? As to her friends and other people in major cities, I hope they're ok.
I just hope , that don´t ruin the Pottermore beta , some of you may think '' nvm , we will get in soon '' , but that is not the case , There are one million accounts , nd all these accounts must get the emails , which means it will take a very long time ( after they start sending ) ..
The Pottermore team was planning to send the emails to everyone during 7 weeks , but now , they don´t have that time , they may actually lose 1 or 2 weeks , which means , there will be problems .. in letteing people sign into the Pottermore beta
Enjoyed logging in and seeing the links to screen shots of Pottermore. Than I was saddened by the rioting. If the rioting is causing a delay than I say so be it. Safety should be number one on the list of everyone dealing with that. I hope all are safe. Needless to say, I will set and wait patiently for myy welcome email
