Finished the series. Definitely my favorite after Harry Potter... It ended exactly the way I wanted it to... I absolutely love the use of the word "Always" in the last book.
"If you make yourself more than just a man... If you devote yourself to an ideal... You become something else entirely- A Legend."
"Burnett, billed as executive music producer, will oversee all production and will produce many of the individual tracks being recorded by new and established artists. Music for the film is still in the planning stages and releases are expected to coincide with the film’s March 23 theatrical release. The film and companion music will feature original recordings, but decision has been made on how many sets will be released.
Set in the future, the film’s music is expected to cross multiple genres, Lionsgate’s head of music Tracy McKnight says. “The list of artists that could participate, and the opportunities for them to write and record, are really unlimited,” she said in a statement.
The music is expected to fit the moods of the film’s locales: an area that resembles the South; a futuristic metropolis; and a forested arena where the games take place."
So there will be actual music by artists accompanied by a score during the film. I don't like it. I just want it to have a score, no singing or whatever.
Oh God no. This is horribly similar to the Twilight route, with the score and the other music.
What's wrong with that?
The problem is that they are blatantly following the "Twilight formula". It's a different series, not set in the same time at all - since it's set in the future, using current artists and music feels so wrong.
I was bored and made this description of a teaser trailer for the movie:
Lionsgate title appears.
Sweeping shots of the District 12 children standing in the square, waiting to hear whose name will be called to become a tribute.
A shot of Effie pulling out a slip of paper from the dome, smoothes the slip of paper and says, "Primrose Everdeen"
Silent mourning from the square as Prim makes her way to the front, then we hear an echo growing, "Prim!"
Katniss appears and pushes Prim behind her, saying "I volunteer!".
We cut to a quick shot of Peeta next to Katniss on stage, Gale in the square watching her with sadness.
A shot of Katniss hugging Prim and her mother goodbye.
A shot of Prim giving Katniss the Mockingjay Pin.
We then see quick shots of a train traveling through Panem, Haymitch drinking, Peeta smiling at Katniss, The Capitol, the other Tributes, President Snow, Cinna ,and Rue on a tree. Cuts to black.
A voice over, "May the odds be ever in your favor!", a wide shot of every tribute on their platforms with the giant, gold Cornucopia in the center.
"So they’ve finished (or a close to finishing) the arena scenes, and they’ve gone the scenes in District 12, and now all they need left is the Capitol scenes."
See? They are filming Capitol scenes now, that's why the pic leaked
I pictured the interviews happening in a stadium O.O
And the Capitol people are just way too Lady Gaga, but I can live with that
I also pictured the interviews happening in a big stadium with an open dome perhaps. And the Capitol people are how I imagined them except in my mind they were wearing colourful funky clothes instead of black ones.
I'm more concerned with making the movie as emotional and serious as possible, it can have a love triangle but.... and don't kill me for saying this.... I don't want it to have that side humor like harry potter, these books were dead serious and the movies need to be too.
"If you make yourself more than just a man... If you devote yourself to an ideal... You become something else entirely- A Legend."
The film ends with a scene of Katniss and Peeta about to abort the train, and Katniss grabs his hand and asks him not to let go. Then it fades out to a scene with Katniss and Gale in the forest, then it ends. But he said that the last scene with Gale seems like it would be more of a deleted scene.
ARTEMIS D11 UPDATES -If you are filming D11 scenes with us this Friday and Saturday (a different filming crew and does not effect Capitol filming) we have just been told Friday will be AM call time and day filming. Saturday will be night filming. May need some slender caucasian and african american adult males for D11 filming. Must be able to work Friday day (am call time) and then film all night on Saturday. Let me know. [email protected] with D11 in the heading.
Why are they filming a D11 scene? It wasn't in the book at all. Hmm..
