what weirded me out in the most recent movie, actually, is the sudden age difference in harry since the last movie... i know teenagers really DO change that fast, but seriously, i found it startling.

i thought a lot of people were well chosen. i saw the movies before reading the books, though, so my opinion is probably biased.

    Snape is a real match.

Harry is of course not a match, Granger is also worse since she's too beautiful. She should has bushy hair and unkempt appearance rather than a beautiful and well shape up appearance. Luna Lovegood is also too pretty in my opinion.

i don't think hollywood is really able to cast ugly people in major roles though, frankly.

ha ha ... true... very true julien... i also like ginny better..

Yeah lol, there's not any ugly faces in Harry Potter movies, well save as Umbridge. But again Umbridge in the movie is not as ugly as Umbridge in the book

Oh there's actually one ugly person who's casted in Harry Potter movie. Argus Filch!
  • i think rupert grint is perfect as ron. i mean, on interwes and so on he really acts like he does in the movie! haha.. but maybe ron in the book is a bit taller than ron in the movie.. but none else would be able to play ron better than rup!

I agree with you! Too bad Fred and George cast are too handsome and not as cheeky as in the book!
  • I think that proffesor Trilani is also a match...Voldemort is not scary enough and I agree that Ron is really a perfect match...Also I think that Dumbledore and Sirius are a match also

Who the heck is Trillani??? I don;t notice any significant change between the old Dumbledore (the old actor who died) and the new Dumbledore

I don't agree, see I think the old Dumbledore has got that boyish little tinkle in his eyes that the book describes. While the new Dumbledore is more like Gandalf in The lord of the rings in my oppinion. And of course, the new Dumbledore's beard is far to short...

But what really got to me when I saw The Order Of The Pheonix is what a perfect match Tonks and Bellatrix are to their characters in the books, dont you think?

bellatrix s a beauty if you want my comment about her. and tonks did have her hair coloured and all that stuff... yup i agree ... they wre good match too
  • everyone in the movies matched the peeps in the books. it's as if they were made for harry potter films

There isn't one bar Luna and both Dumbledores the second Dumbledore had a lot to do to win over the audience and did it well.
But Kingsley is perfectly cast definitely.
  • I think professor Trelawny is a perfect match! i imagined her EXACTLY as the actress is in the movies, the only problem is she doesn't have enough shawls lolz. I personally think that Sirius Black is wrong, he is nothing liek how I imagined him, but then that is just me. I imagined him to have darker hair, and not as curly, but other than that he was ok...Professor Umbridge is wrong as well, but theres no way anyone could be as ugly as her in real life XD, under those circumstances the actress is a good choice. :P

my only other quarry is with the new Dumbledore, he seems too aggressive if you ask me, maybe its how they wrote his character, cuz in the book it says that Dumbledore would just stand or hold up a hand and everyone would shut up, but in the movie he shouts alot to get silence.

    so...yea..
  • Helena Bonham-Carter is just fabulous and fitted the role of Bellatrix perfectly
  • i was very disappointed with the dumbledore shown in the movies..he isnt supposed to be THAT rough n tough....n so...harsh..i seriously was unable to locate the twinkle in his eyes thats supposed to be there..........ron..hagrid..mad-eye....argus filch..rita skeeter..n prof. trelawny are the ones, i think, who were exactly as we imagined them to be.

I think the best matches is Snape and Ron. The worst is Sirius, nothing like I imagined him. He was supposed to be hot and tough more like Aragorn in LOTR.. Not a nice little man with a moustache.. But I can't remember him in the third movie maybe he was better then.. Hermionie is also bad.. Harry is OK, Minerva is OK, the Malfoys are OK.. professor Trelawny and Bellatrix are so exaggerated it feels like they are taken from a theatre. Dumbledore is not wise enough and the Weasly parents bugs me since they are bad as actors (i think). I think it's almost impossible to find "my" perfect matches, in the beginning I thought everything was wrong, from the Dursleys to the school, but through the films I've gotten used to the most basic characters like Harry, Hermionie, Ron, Hagrid, the teachers and the other classmates. But Sirius is still a big disappointment.

ITS HARD FOR ME TO IMAGINE PEOPLE SO I JUST IMAGINE THEM AS THE MOVIES SHOW THEM

    Umbridge.
    Luna Lovegood.
    Fred and George Weasley.
    Snape.
    Dumbledore (Richard Harris).
  • lunar is a perfect mach to her description
    dirty blonde hair
    soft dreamy voice
always comes into a room without realising
  • Harry Potter (Except for his scar and eyes.)
Ron Weasley (Except for he has no freckles.)
    Hermione Granger (Just perfect.)

    Well let me think...
Obviously Snape. And i believe Mc Gonagal is a perfect match too. Also Lupin and of course except his red eyes Voldemort !!!!!!!!!!

Yes, Voldemort. Those red eyes would have just looked silly anyway.
  • "Hermione Granger (Just perfect.)"

    Far from it.

Are you crazy. She's just perfect except for her teeth.

harry, ron and hermione - obviously a match made in heaven!!!!!

    Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure you wouldn't XD
  • Well...a perfect match is hard to find. I agree with you that Sirius isn't a perfect match, but he's a great actor, and still, people agree, handsome.

And I also agree with elysee, I was also disappointed with some of the actors in the movies, but I too got used to them.

For example, I wasn't really disappointed, but I found it weird that Lee Jordan is black lol xD

But he's a perfect match, one of rare ones...why? Because he wasn't described in details so the only thing that matters is that he looks crazy just like he should.
  • I would have to say my favourite casting was Kenneth Brannagh as Professor Lockhart :)

He was EXACTLY as I imagined him, apart from his hair was yellower for me.

Also, even though it's a little irrelevant - worst match has to be the woman who's been cast as Narcissa Malfoy. I'm outraged!
