Well, star wars is about to re-release all their movies again in 3d, so that'll go back to them soon. But we still have the worldwide record!
Aren't we going to do the same? I think we are, eventually!
Lord Stafford.
Aha, yes one day they will!
Who cares, all I know is that what I said above about all the advantages star wars has def outpaces the inflation factor potter has, so passing them is a huge achievement.
Then i'm talking tripe. I'll tell you one thing that i'm looking forward to... coming back from my holiday next saturday night (i'm going tomorrow) and seeing how much Part 2 has made by then. Probably well over a billion.
Harry Potter has not have any re-release, its unfair to get the same movie released twice and consider it part of the gross, but HP will eventually be re-released too someday in 3D
and about the attendance, ticket prices went up, and there was no dvd, internet and all this during SW time, sure ppl went to see it more
I think Richard means as a remake. But yes, it wouldn't make anywhere near as much and most importantly of all... it would not be a beloved version like this current one is.
Well didn't Dan say he wanted to play Sirius or Dumbledore when he was older if there was a reboot? And Tom Felton wanted to play Lucius if that was the case.
Even though i would love that as much as anybody else. Wouldn't it seem a little 'cliched'?
Lord Stafford.
Yes it would be cliche. The movie series is done. These movies should not be remade. The legacy of Potter should be untouched. And if they would be remade then well... then that generation would have their own Hermione, Ron and Harry. Emma, Rupert and Dan are the Harry, Ron and Hermione of our generation and nothing can change that. No one can deny it.
If they were ever re-done, which I wouldn't mind, I'd want all of them to take a PoA direction. Make beautiful films that don't have to take everything from the book other than the main plot and do that with every movie.
There's no point in remaking them if they do the same thing with adapting them. Idc what you purists think, because Harry Potter is the MOST FAITHFULLY adapted book series to movie there is, despite your nitpicking complaints. Many books have entire plots and events completely changed, that's never happened with Potter. I'm not saying I'd want remakes to do that, but just focus on the main plot and main plot only. I wouldn't want another series to do the same as this, they would forever be put down for trying to recreate this which is impossible. They would have to do something different.
ya i guess i don't really care but the annoying comments of "AMERICA TAKES DOWN POTTER" or "POTTERS MAGIC SHOT DOWN BY CAP" is something i can really do without so i really want hp to be number one again
lol i know we're doing well but there's no chance of us being number 1 this weekend at all?
No, there's easily a chance. Perhaps Potter will win Saturday and Sunday and still win the weekend.
DH 1's DOM box office take decreased by 60% on its 2nd Friday so, if the same held true for DH 2, then I would expect for its 2nd Friday take to be around $31M. Having it make less than $25M would mean it decreased by 74% and, sorry, but I honestly can't see that happening.
Alcohol and calculus don't mix. Never drink and derive.
WTF?? Early estimations claims 16m$ for DH2 on friday! That's very low! Even on monday he made more (18m$)! Maybe the 48m$ estimations are all right -___-

They are predicting $48m this weekend for Potter. That's a bit low IMO.
